I've owned three of these things in the past few years and had the same problem with all of them. So it's obviously not bad luck, but it is bad design.

Amazing

Its a powerful set and a must buy if you want a good 2.1 speaker system. Cranking this thing only 1/4 volume is enough. I never dared going past the halfway mark on the volume dial.

Very happy with purchace.

Also, The box was not shipped a cardboard box with package peanuts in it, but instead it was in the display box. Not to mention it was completely mangled! A satellite could of even fallen out, that's how bad it was. I'm hoping that wasn't Newegg's...

The price. 70 bones free shipping is very worth it

The mids.. they're not terrible but i just cant find a sweet spot with a 7 band eq, always sounds just a little inaccurate

A Poor Man's Bose

This system fits perfectly on my desk. I have spent most of the morning listening to music because I just can't believe the quality of these speakers. I am actually considering buying a second set for when I give presentations.

Hearing is believing

It would have been nice to have had a mid eq on the device. You need to tweak your Graphic Equalizer to bring out the mids. No prob if you have iTunes, Winamp, etc

OK+ Sound

No matter how many ways and times I try them, I cannot stand eggs.

These are cheap enough (@ ~70dollars w/ free shipping) and sound good enough to get 4 eggs, but no more. Loudish, not so bad when adjusted with an on-board EQ, and occasionally tinny, these speakers take up very little space and can fill a 200sqft....
