Orbitsound T12v3 Review

Home entertainment can be difficult: do you invite dozens of speakers into your living room in the quest for perfect sound, or opt for a one- or two-box setup and maybe sacrifice some quality for simplicity? UK firm Orbitsound claims to have the...

Outfitting your lounge or home entertainment room for audio always comes with compromises. 5.1 or 7.1 speaker systems invariably offer a more involving sound, though demand you live with multiple often expensive boxes and all the cabling required to...

Orbitsound T12v3

Orbitsound sets a new standard with its ‘spatial stereo' soundbar

Excellent sound quality ; Dashing design and high-quality construction ; Easy to install and operate

Sub not wireless ; Bass a tad boomy at times ; No HDMI inputs

The Orbitsound T12v3 is a sonic revelation. Not only is its fundamental sound quality of the highest order, but the spatial stereo tech also works a treat, giving you immersive, engaging audio no matter where it's placed in the room.

Orbitsound T12 v2 Soundbar

Stereo sound without a sweet spot. Will it ever work?

Moreover, aside from the benefit of being able to pick out the 'stereo' of the T12 v2 easily, there's spatiality to the output that you really don't expect from what is, after all, a relatively compact system. We'd argue that the feeling of 'space'...

Orbitsound T12v3

Improves TV sound, iPod/iPhone dock, sounds big and loud, loads of bass

Sub is a little rowdy still, could be more flexible with positioning and connections

Subtle it ain’t, but it solves two problems affordably and effectively

Orbitsound T12v3 review

A speaker dock that promises 'spatial sound without the extra speakers'. Does it measure up?

User-friendly, easy to set up ; Good quality for the money

Spatial effect not great ; Better-sounding rivals exist

Orbitsound T12 review

This soundbar-cum-iPod dock offers an average performance

Boosts your TV's sound ; Convenient iPod dock ; Compact design

Boomy passive subwoofer ; No digital audio inputs ; Under-powered

Definitely one for the iPod fanboys out there, otherwise there's little to distinguish this soundbar from the competition

OrbitSound T12v3 review

Can OrbitSound's Spacial Stereo tech win us over?

Spacial Stereo Technology ; Simple design and setup ; Price

Cheap remote ; Fingerprint happy coating ; Lack of iPad functionality

Orbitsound T12v3 review

Orbitsound is a relatively new company with only one thing on its mind – making speakers. Its product range runs to soundbars and iPod speakers. And that's it. With that in mind, you'd expect its T12v3 soundbar and sub combo to be more than a match for...

Orbitsound’s unique ‘spatial sound technology’ proves to be more than just PR twaddle. The internal alignment of the eight drivers results in a widely dispersed stereo image, with much less of a ‘sweet spot’ than I expect from a ‘bar. This gives it a...

Those with Blu-ray players will rue the lack of an HDMI input – Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD soundtracks are therefore a no go. You’ll have to make do with the optical and coaxial digital audio connections, and analogue stereo jacks ; The subwoofer doesn’t...
