The all-new Fidelio Primo DS9000 is Philip's flagship docking music system. Designed to work with iPods and iPhones, the Fidelio DS9000 combines winning looks and outstanding audio performance in a compact package.
Excellent sound; Classy, simple design; Costs markedly less than the Zeppelin
Fidelio app feels half-hearted; No way to access sound settings without Fidelio app

Philips takes on the mighty B&W Zeppelin.
Peerless sound quality' says the Philips DS9000 product page. Not quite; there is no hiding that this is a device with a price and audio quality aimed squarely at the same audience as the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin. Is the DS9000 a better speaker dock?...

The Philips Fidelio DS9000 audiophile iPod dock is a class act through and through. Featuring a distinctive curvy design and 3.5mm audio output it's certainly high-tech but is it worth the £400 price tag?

With the introduction of this smart and compact dock from Philips, B&W's mighty Zeppelin finally has some stiff competition
Lovely looks, finish ; punchy, resolute, room-filling sound
Big volumes affect its composure which undermines its USP somewhat
A genuine alternative to a B&W Zeppelin - but you can do better

The Philips Fidelio Primo iPod dock is a classy looking and sounding unit which, with a little home ingenuity, can rival docks worth twice as much.
Beautiful build ; Powerful sound ; Capable of finesse as well ; One of the loudest docks available ; Deep bass ; On-board Fidelio app
Eraser sold separately ; Bass can be lumpy ; Distorts at high volume
The Philips Fidelio Primo is probably the most "hi-fi" iPod dock you'll find at this price, but unless you're installing this on a desk directly in front of you you're not going to get the best sound. While you could get all MacGyver on the Philips,...

The Fidelio Docking Speaker DS9000 is a complete music system conceived for iPhone and iPod. Its elegant appearance results from the use of different materials for the housing, like wood and metal. Not only does the rounded housing underline the...

Looks beautiful, genuine quality wood and very weighty. Rich deep sound. In my home I have tried the Zeppelin & Sonos S5 (and others), but the sound from this beat them hands down for a true realistic and natural sound. Also the sound is very...
For me it is VERY bassy, but luckily there is a sound equalizer app that allows you to adjust the bass. Also the remote is a bit small and the buttons are hard to see and poorly labeled.
