With a 7.1.2 system and impressively potent bass, the Fidelio FB1 could be the Dolby Atmos soundbar you've been waiting for. Shame it's so hard to use, then.
Very powerful Dolby Atmos sound Excellent bass response Room calibration Tons of audio settings Airplay/Chromecast/hi-res audio
Confusing, two-app setup Sync issues when adding surrounds and sub No instruction manual in the box
“Outstanding bass and power make the Philips Fidelio FB1 a fantastic single-speaker soundbar.”

The Philips Fidelio FB1 soundbar pushes out serious bass without a dedicated subwoofer and spreads decent spatial audio around the room.

This Atmos soundbar might be the best choice for anyone looking for deep bass from a single unit
Wide front soundstage ; Deep bass extension ; Clearly defined dialogue ; Attractive design and solid build
Front-heavy delivery ; No support for HDMI 2.1
The Philips Fidelio FB1 is a capable and stylish soundbar that delivers deep bass despite the lack of a separate subwoofer. The soundstage is expansive with precisely placed overhead effects, and only the connectivity disappoints. Otherwise this is a...

A prodigiously intelligent soundbar, but does its sound match its spec?
Clear vocals ; Excellent connectivity ; Sounds both expansive and direct
Sonically, a touch harsh ; Excessive menu options ; No VRR/ALLM support
The Philips Fidelio is a well-specced, room-filling single soundbar that is slightly let down by some sonic brashness

Superb sound tuning means Philips' FB1 one-box audio solution puts in a performance that makes its price tag look like a steal. And the feature set ain't bad either, says Mark Craven Call me easily impressed, but it was within minutes of getting...

We got to experience a demonstration of the new soundbar and its modular family of wireless home cinema speakers.
Premium look and feel ; Modular upgradability ; Chromecast built-in ; Wide range of compatible services with DTS Play-Fi ; Excellent sound
Fairly pricey if you opt for the full system
The Philips Fidelio FB1 is a powerful, precisely engineered soundbar with bags of connectivity. We'll need to hear more before we give our judgement, but things are sounding good so far.

Philips does what it does best - and refuses to change what it doesn't - but the Fidelio FB1's positives outweigh any setup woes
Big, expansive and engrossing sound ; Impressive low-frequency presence ; Well made and nicely finished ; Good connectivity
Slightly edgy and bright high frequencies ; Hopeless ergonomics ; Not suitable for vegetarians
Ignore (if you can) all the apps and the oddball remote control, and you’re left with a great-sounding soundbar for movies and music alike
