Huawei MateBook E

Despite a capable, high-quality touch screen and iPad Pro-like looks, the Huawei MateBook E doesn't measure up to many competing detachable 2-in-1s.

Thin and light. Responsive and crisp touch screen. Full-size keys. USB adapter included.

Lackluster performance. Relatively short battery life. Subpar trackpad. Lacks angled keyboard. Pre-partitioned hard drive.

The MateBook E is an impressive tablet-first 2-in-1 laptop. The OLED screen is the star, but it's also well built, with capable cameras, mics and speakers. Battery life is the main disappointment, along with a paucity of ports.

A capable Windows 11 tablet with included keyboard is the way to go for Huawei, but further refinements are needed for it to be the best 2-in-1 around.
