Surface Pro X hands-on review: The Surface I’ve always wanted

Microsoft has announced the Surface Pro X, the most advanced Surface device ever made. Armed with a custom ARM processor and a slim design, the Surface Pro X feels like the modern Surface I've always wanted. Look out iPad Pro, you have some serious...

Beautiful thin-bezel display ; Absurdly thin and light ; New stylus is easy to charge ; LTE comes standard

Microsoft's new Surface Pro X is the 2-in-1 I've always dreamed of

Microsoft Surface Pro X

The Pro X is a well-designed Windows tablet that will thrill Microsoft's Surface superfans, but its cost and app-compatibility caveats throttle its aim to be a go-anywhere, do-anything PC.

Sleek styling. High-quality PixelSense display. Excellent camera quality. LTE connectivity via eSIM. Built-in kickstand. All-day battery life.

Expensive. Keyboard and pen cost extra. Incompatible with some third-party apps and drivers. Impractical for lap use. No headphone jack.

Bottom Line: The Pro X is a well-designed Windows tablet that will thrill Microsoft's Surface superfans, but its cost and app-compatibility caveats throttle its aim to be a go-anywhere, do-anything PC.

Microsoft Surface Pro X review: heartbreaker

Better than expected isn't enough

Beautiful design ; New stylus ; Good screen

App compatibility issues ; Expensive ; Too slow for the price ; Battery doesn’t impress

The Surface Pro X is the Windows 10 computer Microsoft has tried to make for years. Running on an ARM processor co-developed between Microsoft and Qualcomm, can it support the apps you need? Since the base model costs $1,138.99 with a keyboard, it’s an...

Microsoft Surface Pro X review: This isn't the long-lasting tablet we were hoping for

Microsoft's Surface Pro X reimagines the Surface Pro tablet line, but its battery life misses the boat, and bugs and other issues narrow its usefulness.

Lightweight and sturdy ; Beautiful screen, as usual ; An excellent typing experience, though not on your lap

App compatibility issues and some bugs ; Good, though not overly impressive battery life ; USB-C ports are late, and lack Thunderbolt

I was surprised to find that I almost enjoyed typing on the Surface Pro X more than our recently-reviewed . Surface Pro keyboard keyboards have always felt a bit looser, dating back to one of my favorites, the . While the Surface Laptop 3’s keys were a...

Microsoft Surface Pro X review: Desirable but expensive hardware, work-in-progress software Review | ZDNet

Mobile knowledge workers who are also Surface enthusiasts with deep pockets will love this ARM-based tablet/laptop. Gamers and creative types should look elsewhere, for now.

Sleek, fanless industrial design ; Excellent 13-inch display ; Capable ARM-based processor ; Integrated 4G LTE mobile broadband ; All-day battery life ; SSD is replaceable

Windows-on-ARM ecosystem is still developing ; Expensive (keyboard and pen not included) ; No 3.5mm headset jack ; No SD card slot

Surface Pro X review

A middling Microsoft tablet that can't tick the right boxes

Beautiful 13-inch display ; Lightweight and ultra-portable ; Fantastic cameras for a tablet

Lack of app support for Windows on ARM ; No Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 ; Stylus and keyboard come sold separately

The Microsoft Surface Pro X is a lightweight device for everyday browsing and general office work, but the lack of native support for creative applications for Windows on ARM makes it a very hard sell for people working in a creative industry. It makes...

Microsoft Surface Pro X review – Windows on ARM needs a bit more time to be perfect

Not long ago we managed to snatch a Surface Pro 7 for review, and we were baffled by the versatility this tablet offered. Without a doubt, its strongest ace was the Ice Lake processor inside, which…

Covers 93% of the sRGB gamut (Chi Mei P130ZFA-BA1) and has a great color accuracy;Thin, light, and premium design;Very good build quality;High maximum brightness (450 nits);IR face recognition and LTE support

Very limited I/O;Memory is soldered to the motherboard;Windows is not very well suited for ARM integration in 2020
