Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 review

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S2 is the best Android tablet you can buy.

Absurdly thin and light ; Sleek look ; Bright colorful screen ; Long battery life

It’s almost as expensive as an iPad ; Lacks premium all-metal build

For Android users, Samsung’s high-end tablets have always been the logical alternative to Apple’s iPad. The Tab S line started on a high note, and the second-generation is as excellent as the first. The bright sharp screen, thin and light body, as well...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 review: Insanely thin, but not much of an upgrade

The Galaxy Tab S2 is an impressively thin and light Android tablet -- the only problem is Samsung did it better last year. With significantly less battery life than the Galaxy Tab S, the Tab S2 doesn't feel like an upgrade.

Thin and light ; More streamlined design ; Gorgeous quad-HD screen ; Lighter Android skin than in years past

Battery life is a huge step down from last year

Leave it to Samsung to ruin one of its best products. The original Tab S had plenty going for it -- except few people bought it. That's one reason Samsung might have chosen to make its new model more iPad-like. But by focusing on the spec race with...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (9.7-inch) review: A big screen in a slim package

One of the thinnest and lightest tablets also has one of the most vibrant screens.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 has bright and vividly colorful screen. Its rail-thin design is comfortable and ultracompact. It comes with 32GB of storage, a microSD card expansion slot and fingerprint scanner. Battery life is long.

Unlike previous models, there's no IR blaster. In smaller hands, it's not as easy to use as the 8-inch model.

The large, sharp screen of the 9.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is great for watching media and playing games at home or on the road.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 gold, 8-inch

Running Samsung's Android-based TouchWiz user-interface, the tablet is similar to the company's flagship Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones, which also utilize the UI. Though it lacks an exciting or cutting-edge feature, the absence of a gimmicky...

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2's brilliant screen, plentiful storage capacity and slender build make it a great tablet for everyday use at home or on the go.

Galaxy Tab S2 review: A worthy counterpart for your smartphone

Samsung's second-gen tablet series knocks it out of the park again with solid performance and a lighter-than-Air chassis.

There are still people out there who shoot photos with their tablets. I’m not happy about this, but I’ve learned to accept that this is a thing that happens in the world. And anyway, it’s not like tablet makers are discouraging this behavior. Samsung...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is a great Android tablet for multitasking, but you're paying a sizable premium over the smaller Tab S2 8.0.

Great multitasking features. Premium build. Good camera.

Pricey. Lots of bloatware. Average battery life in testing.

Conclusions The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 is one of the best Android tablets on the market. It's incredibly thin and light, has useful multitasking features, and excels at media playback. But its high price and average battery life make the 8-inch Tab...

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is last year’s tech in this year’s tablet

Things are getting awkward in tablet land. On the consumer side, we've run out of ideas; maybe we use them to watch video, "babysit" our kids, or travel with them when it's too annoying to carry a...

Thinnest tablet on the market ; Gorgeous display ; Upgraded processor

Weak battery life ; Same old cameras ; TV-to-Tab feature limited to Samsung TVs

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Review

The first Android tablet I ever used was the original Galaxy Tab. It was a 7" Android tablet running Android Froyo, and it seemed a lot like a large version of my Galaxy S. In hindsight, it wasn't a very good tablet, but Samsung was one of the first...

This feels almost completely obvious but the Tab S2 9.7" is definitely the most compelling tablet that Samsung has released to date, and I think it's a good overall upgrade over the Tab S 10.5". Over the course of the review I've found some aspects of...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (9.7-inch) Review

Below-average battery life; Plastic back; Mediocre cameras ; The Tab S2 combines awesome power and eye candy in a jaw-droppingly thin and light design, but its battery life falls short.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 LTE Tablet Review

Insanely slim. With a more compact chassis and a different screen ratio, the new Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 aims to outdo its predecessor. Our in-depth review will show whether this is a success despite – or because – of the shrunken dimensions.

very thin and light, sophisticated build quality, microSD-card slot, AC Wi-Fi & Bluetooth 4.1, fingerprint scanner, precise touchscreen, great display with excellent contrast & colors, video recording in QHD, telephone functions, smooth handling

only average performance, heavy throttling, color changes from flat viewing angles, only Micro-USB 2.0, no NFC, IR transmitter of the predecessor is missing

The highlights of Samsung's new tablet are the restrained, yet sophisticated and very slim construction as well as the new 4:3 Super-AMOLED screen. It can easily keep up with its excellent predecessor and convinces with a great contrast ratio, good...
