Toshiba Excite 10 SE

The Toshiba Excite 10 SE is a solid large-screen Android tablet that does almost everything well, but doesn't do enough to stand out from the crowd.

Fast and responsive. Crisp, bright display. MicroSD card slot.

Lots of bloatware. Reconnects to Wi-Fi slowly after waking from sleep.

Conclusions The Toshiba Excite 10 SE is a fine Android tablet, it just lacks the stand-out features or low price that set most top-notch competitors apart. The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 offers the same performance for the same price, but also has the...

Toshiba Excite 10 SE ( 16GB)

The Excite 10 SE (or, as Toshiba also calls it, the AT305SE) has a plastic body, replacing the aluminum one of the Excite 10. It has a Tegra 3 processor, just like its predecessor...but we reviewed that Excite in the middle of last year. The other...

Comfortable feel, and a solid set of basic features for an Android tablet.

Lacks any higher-end feature sets, has a reduced set of features compared with the Excite 10, and has a cheap plastic feel. It also feels priced too high for what it is.

The Toshiba Excite 10 SE looks like, and is, a generic budget-range 10-inch Android tablet...nothing more, nothing less.

Toshiba Excite 10 SE review

Buying a tablet, when you realize that tablet already feels dated before it ever leaves the box, is a tough proposition. Toshiba's history in Android tablets started at the high end with the Excite 10 LE , continued into a respectable middle end with...

Toshiba Excite 10 & 7 inch Tablets Review

One is brilliant, the other isn't. Care to guess?

Decently powerful specs; Amazing screen on Excite 7.7; Expandable memory; Audio & Visual enhancements improve viewing experience

May not get Jelly Bean update (lack of Flash support); Proprietary charger; Unimpressive screen on Excite 10

As for the Excite 10, the LCD panel is a real disappointment, with the LCD panel and its low pixel density and eye-straining brightness (from poor contrast ratio). The pricing on this is acceptable, and the expansion slots on both tablets make them an...

Toshiba Excite 10 LE: The World's Thinnest 10" Tablet

Toshiba is claiming to have the world's thinnest 10-inch tablet with its Excite 10 LE. This Android 4.0-powered tablet is indeed thin and lightweight, measuring 0.3 inches thick and weighing about 1.18 pounds. In addition to its thin design, the Excite...

Thin design ; micro HDMI port ; Android 4.0 ; Magnesium alloy casing

No 3G or 4G LTE connectivity ; Price ; Average Performance

The Toshiba Excite 10 LE has a lot of good things going for it, including its thin and lightweight design as well as its attractive magnesium alloy casing. At just 0.3-inches thick, Toshiba says the Excite 10 LE is currently the world's thinnest...

Toshiba Excite 10 LE Review | Android 4.0 Tablet

Last year Toshiba waded into the Android tablet market with the Thrive , a 10.1-inch slate that served as the company's response to what they deemed missing in the then current crop. Thus, it had several full-size ports, a rugged-ish exterior, and a...

Once again, Toshiba produced a tablet that has most of you’d expect from from a 10-inch Android slate plus a few extras like card slots and ports. Now that it runs the latest version of the operating system and no longer suffers from pesky performance...

Toshiba Excite 10 LE initial walkthrough

You want thin, yet fully featured? Then you need to look at the Toshiba Excite 10 LE. It has decent, but not breath-taking specs -- OMAP dual-core 4430 at 1.2GHz, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 10.1-inch IPS di...

I'm putting this one through the paces. I use the heck out of a tablet, even though for the longest time I didn't think I would. If it can be broken, I will break it. If it can be crashed, I will crash it. If it performs great, I will love it. Keep an...

Toshiba AT300SE review

A cheaper, lower specced AT300

Lower price ; Breezy browsing ; Build quality ; Improved charger

Touchscreen not as sensitive as rival ; Lacks HDMI output ; HD video looks soft

Making a 'special edition' of an older, middle-ranking product between the annual product refresh is rather an unusual move in the world of tablets; but in the case of the Toshiba AT300SE, it makes a lot of sense.

Toshiba Excite 10 SE review: Budget-tablet blah

This step-down model in Toshiba's Android tablet lineup has a Tegra 3 processor going for it, but it's neither cutting-edge nor aggressively priced.

Toshiba Excite 10 LE: Lightweight Tablet, Unfortunate Display

In a sea of me-too tablet slabs, the Toshiba Excite 10 LE--running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb)--distinguishes itself on two key metrics. First, at 1.18 pounds, it's the lightest 10-inch-size tablet we've seen to date. Second, it's the slimmest, measuring...
