Toshiba Excite Pro

The Write's biggest issue is integration. Or lack thereof. Toshiba's TruNote Stylus app is severely limited in function, and while the pen can be used to navigate the OS, its functionality pales in comparison to Samsung's Note line of tablets whose...

Writing on the Toshiba Excite Write's screen feels fluid and smooth, and I love the useful eraser button. It also boasts an incredibly sharp screen and includes storage expansion via microSD.

There are few useful stylus features and no built-in pocket for the pen. The screen at times becomes completely unresponsive.

Though it doesn't have any glaring problems, $600 is way too much for a tablet that fails to stand out in any significant way.

Toshiba Excite Pro

Toshiba Excite Pro is a 10.1-inch tablet with 2560x1600 pixels touchscreen, super-fast NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, 8-megapixel camera, while Android 4.2 Jelly Bean is running the show.

Verizon 4G LTE network is incredibly fast, 32GB microSD card included, Integrated kickstand works in portrait and landscape

Battery life is among the worst weve ever seen, No 4G LTE power toggle option, Kickstand in landscape orientation blocks microUSB port

Toshiba Excite Pro review

A Tegra 4 powerhouse, sure, but don't get too excited about the Excite Pro. You won't want to buy this tablet.

"We're not exactly sure why things are this way, but they are, and the experience is bad. Really bad." As much as I hate to say it, I can't recommend anyone rush out to spend $500 on the Excite Pro. The great screen, exceptional build materials and...

Toshiba Excite Pro 10.1 review

There's such a huge variety of tablets in the market right now that it can be hard to know where to look. Fire, Arc, Note, Nexus, to name but a few, are names to try and entice you in. And now Toshiba's take on the 10.1-inch tablet, the Excite Pro,...

Slim design, huge screen resolution looks great, comfortable grip, Android system suitable for work and play, solid battery life

Speaker position, runs hot, somewhat vanilla design doesn't stand out, screen reflections, not inconsiderable price (32GB), bunched up keyboard, slow camera

As we initially touched upon, the keyboard and case combination of the Excite Pro makes for a viable laptop replacement - albeit a businessy looking one - but one less elegant than the likes of the Asus Transformer Pad TF701T.

Don't see how it could get any better than this

A word of warning: This is my first tablet. My wife has had one for some time and would not shut up about how much she loved it. (Hers is an older version of the Excite.) She finally just went ahead and bought one for me. I can't get over the...
