Sharp LC-37B20E review

Another slim set from Sharp, and while not disgraced, it still struggles to match the competition

Smart looks and slender profile ; Full HD spec ; clean, colourful images

Noisy ; poor black levels ; can’t quite match its rivals’ attention to detail

While not disgraced, Sharp still struggles to match the competition at the finer arts of TV making

Sharp Aquos LC-37B20E review

So far, Sharp's 2008 LCD TVs have been a revelation - can the LC-37B20E continue that trend?

Great black-levels ; No motion judder ; good connectivity

default picture and sound settings aren’t always the best

Sharp’s most recent Aquos LCD TVs have taken a massive leap upwards in terms of sound and picture performance, and nowhere is this more true than in the LC-37B20E. Highly recommended.

Sharp Aquos LC37B20E television

The inventor of LCD technology, Sharp, has been busy transforming its HD-ready range into pixel-packed Full HD 1080p sets. If that wasn't enough, it's also fitted its latest 37-inch Aquos LCD TV with a frame that's less than a centimetre in depth....

Natural colours, impressive contrast and simple on-screen menus

Slight lack of detail and some picture noise on sources other than Blu-ray discs

That’s enough to convince us that while the LC37B20E isn’t the greatest if you’re after a jack of all trades screen for the living room, it’s a seriously good value choice if you have a Blu-ray player or high-def games console to think about.
