Sharp Aquos LC-D65U review: Sharp Aquos LC-D65U

Sharp Aquos LC-D65U

Relatively inexpensive; accurate color after calibration; energy-efficient; numerous picture controls; superb connectivity with five HDMI inputs; understated, no-nonsense styling.

Produces lighter blacks than some LCDs; poor off-angle viewing characteristics; below-average standard-definition processing.

Excellent energy savings and decent picture quality make the Sharp LC-52D65U a solid value among bigger-screen LCDs.

Sharp LC-42D65UT

A scientific, in-depth analysis with side-by-side comparisons

The Sharp LC-42D65UT is a somewhat expensive 42-inch 1080p HDTV. It also doesn’t have a whole lot ot back up the price. It did excel in some tests, such as color representation, but also failed to meet expectations in other tests, such as our motion...

Very Sharp

If I had added $350 more I could have had the 52 inch version. I believe with either one you will be satisfied with this TV..

Although I have only had this around a month, so far I really like this LCD.. It's the 3rd LCD that I have bought down thru the years ; It's the biggest screen size, but the smallest yet.. (haha)

So far none (oh,,it doesn't pay my electric bills, wash my cloths, etc)

Stop looking elsewhere and just buy this one!!!

I'm impatient, so the status updates really got to me. Guess I'm used to Fed-ex type tracking that gives you more info. All in all I cant complain It made it to me within a week, works perfectly, and didn't break the bank. Now only if OLED was down at...

Arrived 2ish days prior to given delivery date. Great Picture. Easy to setup. Best bang for the buck after a good amount of research and other sites falling short to newegg (big surprise nuh). No dead pixels. Menus are not bad to get through. Not to...

Remote could not find my DVD/surround sound with the codes in the manual. Box was damaged in shipping. AIT Tracking is the worst. Ambiguous status updates will keep you guessing where and when it will show up. I still have the status after taking...

Good TV at the price

Only if you are getting some true HD source, like BD, or HD camcorder, you may over kill to buy this one. The TV signal (usually at 1080i or 720p) or the DVD, plays OK, but that's it. You won't get great picture unless the source is true HD.

Cripsy image, plenty HDMI ports, easily accessible. Really easy to set up and get running, if you are those plug and play type. Best result I get, when playing those 1080p video from HD camcorder. The over the air TV program or SD DVD looks fine, but...

For some advanced setting, the menu is not the easiest to get through. The ODC (powersaving mood) sometime makes it dimmer than you want. The speaker is shabby, but you would invest some audio system anyway, would you

Love It! Great bang for the buck!

This screen is a great deal for the price! Not to mention it was physically smaller than my old Visio 42" Plasma - that died.

The image is VERY clear and response is great. I use this for tv playback, and for gaming/video from my PC. The image is clearer than my old Visio 42" plasma screen ; The connections were easy, and the VESA mounting was very easy

The menus could be a bit more intuitive, but there is a whole bunch of data to go through. I might be willing to give them a pass on the rough menu

Beautiful

Packaged well and shipped fast.

Beautiful crisp picture, easy setup, automatic brightness adjustment, TONS of hookups, and a great price! Even the remote is nice, not too complex, but with plenty of options

none at all

Dead On

I'm really very pleased with this Television. Have not noticed any ghosting, but I haven't tested a game (waiting for cables), I would assume the 6ms GTG is fast enough. Colors were vibrant and clear once adjusted. Watching anything on a 1080 input...

Good set of features

If I had to dig...

Simply Stunning

When I initially connected my computer to it I noticed the computer does quite a bit of overscan. This is easily adjusted by using the NVIDIA control panel and the HDTV adjust option.

There is an abundance of features as well as inputs, with this TV there is no point in buying a HDMI switch. It has a light sensor to adjust the backlight to the light enviroment of the room. When pauseing a 1080p bluray movie I thought I was starring...

A tiny bit of ghosting when i was playing Splinter Cell for Xbox360, but not enough for any non-techie to notice
