Sharp Aquos LC-32LE700UN Review

The Sharp Aquos LC-32LE700UN is a solid product and a major step up from most any older CFL-backlit LCD TV, but the competition in this price range is heated these days.

Sharp Aquos LC-40LE700UN

Sharp's Aquos LC-40LE700UN uses the latest in LED technology to deliver a solid HD picture while conserving energy.

Affordable. Solid color and contrast-ratio performance. Strong feature set. Energy efficient.

Colors become less saturated at wider viewing angles. Some deinterlacing issues. Low peak brightness for an LED set.

Sharp LC-LE700UN review: Sharp LC-LE700UN

Sharp LC-LE700UN

Inexpensive for an LCD with LED backlighting; extremely energy efficient; effective video processing that can separate antiblur and dejudder functions; intriguing selection of interactive widgets; superb built-in support including live help with remote...

Black levels not as deep as LED and some non-LED-based LCDs; less-accurate grayscale; glossy screen reflects ambient light; minor backlight uniformity issues.

The Sharp LC-LE700UN's LED backlighting doesn't elevate its picture quality beyond the LCD norm, but does help make it the most efficient TV we've ever tested.

Sharp Aquos LC-40LE700UN LCD HDTV Review - Intro

The Sharp LC-40LE700UN ($1399 MSRP) is a solid performer, but its internet features are pretty sparse compared to its competitors. This slightly older model is perhaps best thought of as a prequel to the streaming content age of TV.

The Sharp LC-40LE700UN is certainly not a headline-maker of a TV, but we found lots of reasons that it should be given some consideration if you're shopping for a moderately-sized unit. It performed well in most of our tests, and its special features,...

Sharp LC-46 LE 700 E

Decent 24p., Excellent contrast., Energy-efficient

Violet and pink tints., Low motion clarity., Imperfect detail resolution in HD signals., Picture depends strongly on viewing-angle and lacks uniformity

The Sharp’s biggest plus point could well be its affordable retail price — just 1,100 GBP! User-friendly operation and low power consumption add to the list of positives, making the Sharp an excellent everyday TV. For more advanced home-cinema tasks,...

Sharp LC-32LE700UN LED LCD HDTV

With the new LE700 Series, Sharp's enters the full-array LED category of LCD TVs. However, the company opted not to include local dimming to produce deeper blacks. How does that affect the performance of this 32-inch, 1080p TV? Read on to find out....

The LE700 Series is, thus far, the only full-array LED system I've encountered that doesn't add local dimming to further improve the depth of blacks. Although the LC-32LE700UN has a deep enough black level to produce good overall contrast, it couldn't...

Often, we reviewers tend to classify smaller-screen TVs as second-room options, something you might put in a family room or bedroom for occasional viewing. If that's what you're looking for, then there are plenty of less-expensive options at the...
