Apple has gone a long way to ensure that the iPod is consistently the best MP3 player on the market. It has held that top spot since the original iPod came out in 2001. Since then, we’ve seen the iPod Nano, Shuffle, and Touch, all favorites amongst consumers. The only place the iPod can’t compete is in the lower price-points, but it has never had to.
