Mini review video: Our verdict on the iPhone SE in about a minute

No, it's not the most exciting iPhone release, but the new SE still has a clear purpose: At $399, it's Apple's most affordable handset yet. Meanwhile, its 4-inch screen is likely to appeal to nostalgics who miss smaller iPhones. Indeed, the SE is...

Great performance ; Amazing battery life for an iPhone ; Starts at $399

Screen too small for some ; Old front camera, Touch ID sensor ; Base model only has 16GB of storage

Just because the iPhone SE looks like an old device doesn't mean it acts like one. Apple squeezed flagship-level performance and the best battery life we've seen from an iPhone in years into a familiar (and relatively inexpensive) frame. The phone...

iPhone SE Review – Classic Remix

Did you love the iPhone 5s and rue the day Apple switched from crisp edges to comely curves on the iPhone 6? You'll probably approve of the iPhone SE, then, which goes excavating in the graveyard of Apple's design labs and comes up with a...

iPhone SE review: It’s a pocket-size powerhouse

The SE is the little iPhone that could. With a 4-inch screen and the body of an iPhone 5s, it fits in my pockets better than my iPhone 6s, and it's easier to use one-handed. But it doesn't compromise much over its bigger, more expensive siblings.

Easier to hold and use one-handed ; Great camera

No 3D Touch

For anyone who's been holding out for a smaller iPhone, the 4-inch iPhone SE is worth the wait.

Apple iPhone SE review

Apple's iPhone SE is the best 4-inch smartphone you can buy, period.

The iPhone SE may not be a game-changer, but it is truly the best 4-inch smartphone you can buy. It fills a gaping hole in the market, serving people who want a smaller phone that they can actually hold and carry comfortably.

Apple iPhone SE review: A compelling blend of old and new

Just because the iPhone SE looks like an old device doesn't mean it acts like one. Apple squeezed flagship-level performance and the best battery life we've seen from an iPhone in years into a familiar (and relatively inexpensive) frame. The phone...

Great performance ; Amazing battery life for an iPhone ; Starts at $399

Screen too small for some ; Old front camera, Touch ID sensor ; Base model only has 16GB of storage

It's clear that the iPhone SE isn't for people like me: people who have embraced the advent of more spacious screens despite the weird bulges they form in our collective jeans pockets. When you look at the SE as a newcomer's iPhone, though, it all sort...

Apple iPhone SE

The Apple iPhone SE is your best choice if you're looking for a small, but powerful smartphone.

Fast. Very good battery life. Easy to use with a single hand.

Low-res front-facing camera. Lacks the latest Wi-Fi capabilities.

Comparisons and Conclusions If you want a powerful small smartphone, the iPhone SE is by far your best choice. It is both smaller and faster than its viable Android competitors, the 4.7-inch Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 4.7 and the 5-inch HTC One A9 ....

Apple iPhone SE (16GB, rose gold)

The iPhone SE looks like an old iPhone. Sounds boring, huh? But this isn't a phone to show off. It's a phone to go undercover with. It's got nearly all of the same upgraded specs as 2015's top-end iPhones -- the 6S and 6S Plus -- jammed into a body...

Packs nearly every worthwhile feature (processor, great camera, Apple Pay, always-on Siri) from iPhone 6S into a smaller, more affordable 4-inch phone. Compatible with all iPhone 5/5S cases and accessories.

Selfie cam doesn't get a megapixel upgrade, and there's no 3D Touch. Older design, while still good-looking, is exactly like the older iPhone 5S. Mid-year release means another iPhone will be coming sooner than later.

While the rest of us wait for the iPhone 7 later this year, the iPhone SE is a great choice for small phone fans looking for an 'iPhone 6S Mini.'

iPhone SE review: today’s tech, yesterday’s design

Earlier this week at Apple's campus in Cupertino, the company announced a brand-new iPhone. The heavens didn't part, pop bands didn't play, and people aren't camping out at Apple Stores to buy the...

Fast! ; Long battery life ; Great rear camera ; Relatively inexpensive

Starts with only 16GB of storage ; Lacks a few iPhones 6S features ; Design not updated from iPhone 5s

Apple iPhone SE Review

This has to be one of the more peculiar reviews I've ever been tasked with. A past iPhone 5 and 5s user, I have long forgotten what it is to hold and work with a smartphone of such caliber. Since those two, whom Apple's new iPhone SE resembles...

Super compact and light ; Glamorous screen ; Top-shelf performance ; Intuitive, efficient and reliable software experience ; Comes with best-in-class earphones

Old design is old and not ergonomic ; Loudspeaker is not deep enough ; Base model has only 16 GB memory

One of the most unique things about the Apple iPhone SE is that it's in a class of its own: there is no other phone of such size that's even remotely as powerful. It's the only high-end mini phone you can find on the market, safe for the Sony Xperia Z5...

Apple iPhone SE review: Mini but mighty

The iPhone SE is the best 4-inch phone ever made. It has all the power and performance (as well as the rear camera) of the iPhone 6s, in a compact, one-hand-friendly form factor. But is there a place for it in 2016?

Great benchmark performance ; Long battery life ; Relatively affordable for an iPhone ; Great rear camera

Looks exactly the same as the iPhone 5s ; Front camera not upgraded ; The iPhone SE should have been launched a year earlier

The iPhone SE nearly has it all, great performance, long battery life, fantastic camera, attractive design, affordable price, in fact the only thing it doesn't have is a big screen. For all the people still holding onto an iPhone 4 or 5 because you...
