HTC Touch Viva Review

Last year, HTC announced a small device, known by the name of Touch. It'd eventually become the godfather of a whole family of mobile phones, including Touch Diamond, Touch Pro and Touch HD. Recently, the family has welcomed a new member, the...

HTC Touch Viva

The entry-level phone in HTC's Touch range, the HTC Touch Viva improves on many of the original Touch's features whilst retaining some of its flaws.

HTC Touch Viva

HTC Touch Viva is a successor of HTC Touch smartphone. The HTC Touch Viva does not support 3G connection but will do EDGE/GPRS wireless data connection. It will be able to run the new HTC TouchFLO 3D, same as the HTC Touch Diamond or HTC Touch Pro.

But it’s still recommended at RM 1,299 to entry-level smartphone users, especially those who don't rely much on data usage.

HTC Touch Viva review

The original HTC Touch gets a sexy new look and an affordable price

Touch screen ; TouchFLO ; 2 megapixel camera ; Wi-Fi ; MicroSD slot

No 3G ; Small onboard memory ; Camera could be better

The budget Touch has some good points, but it's frustratingly under-specced

HTC Touch Viva

The Touch Viva is the baby brother in HTC's latest Touch Series announcements, which features a pared down version of TouchFlo 3D matched with a simplified spec sheet. HSDPA and GPS are notably absent.

To be a success, the Viva needs to have an irresistible price and great battery life. We'll analyse those two factors once we get more information and a review set, so look out for that.

HTC Touch Viva review

Personally I would not entertain the HTC Viva as my device of choice as it is too minimal and too boring for me to part with my cash. But if that is your thing then it is very capable and worth a look, especially if money is tight. The biggest problem...

HTC Touch Viva budget Windows Mobile smartphone

It's the cheapest Touch and it shows, but it's still got a few tricks to justify its bargain basement price.

Compared to previous Touch handsets, the Viva was always bound to come up wanting, though it's easy to see where the money has been saved. Unfortunately, some of the savings seem to undermine the Viva's strengths, which include a good browser - so it...
