Huawei Honor 6X review

The Honor 6X has a solid camera for a budget phone that even does reasonably well in low-light.

Huawei Honor 6X

The unlocked Huawei Honor 6X phone offers a lot of Android bang for your buck, besting last year's model in just about every way.

Affordable. Sleek metal unibody build. Crisp 1080p display. Fast performance. Solid camera with bokeh control. Fingerprint sensor, dual SIM slots, and expandable storage.

Heavy UI layer. No NFC or dual-band Wi-Fi.

At $249, the Huawei Honor 6X is $50 less than the Moto G5 Plus and $150 less than the Axon 7. For the extra $50, the G5 Plus gets you virtually stock Android and compatibility with every major carrier. If you can afford to spend more, the ZTE Axon 7...

Huawei's cheap 6X has two things the Galaxy S8 doesn't (review)

This seriously budget phone has dual cameras and a fast, accurate fingerprint reader right where I want it. Unfortunately, that's about the best it can offer.

The Huawei Honor 6X has a dual rear camera, a ton of advanced camera tools and it's way cheap.

It runs an older version of Android and sometimes lags when launching or switching apps. Photo quality doesn't live up to the tools.

The Motorola Moto G5 Plus is the better budget phone in nearly every way. Get the Huawei Honor 6X only if you really want a dual rear camera.

Honor 6X Smartphone Review

Good and affordable. Although Honor's 6X does not cost much, it is a serious competition for considerably more expensive smartphones in terms of configuration and performance. It is even equipped with a dual-camera. Our review reveals how the Android...

affordable ; high-quality casing ; LTE Cat.6 and NFC ; dual-SIM ; fingerprint sensor ; dual-camera with good image quality ; bright Full HD screen ; high system performance ; no throttling during load ; long battery life

App2SD not possible ; no 5-GHz WiFi ; hybrid dual-SIM only ; games do not always run smoothly ; mediocre mono speaker

Honor has a well-conceived total package in its lineup with the 5.5-inch 6X. At an official price of 249 Euros (~$268), the buyer gets a fast mid-range smartphone with a high-quality build that does many things better than its predecessor 5X, and which...

Honor 6X Review: The $249 promise

Honor may be obsessed with Millennials, but most of us can appreciate an affordable smartphone that punches above its price, and that's just what the Honor 6X promises to be. Follow-up to the well-received 5X, the new Android handset gets a competitive...

$249.99 price tag is aggressive ; Solid design belies budget cost ; Camera produces decent shots in good light ; Excellent battery life

Old Android and unlovable EMUI 4.1 disappoint ; Dual-camera system can feel like a gimmick ; No USB-C or NFC

What can you expect from a $250 smartphone? Honor sets its stall out with the promise of segment-above photographic talents and a big display, all wrapped up with a dash of premium style. Millennials, so I guess the theory goes, may not have much spare...

Honor 6X Review

Smartphones may exist in a spectrum that runs from the most basic are-you-sure-this-didn't-launch-in-2012 model to the latest super-thin, no-bezel, costs-more-than-a-new-laptop flagship, but really successful handsets aren't those content to just land...

Great value for the price ; Surprisingly swift performance ; Bright, good-sized screen ; Fast, accurate fingerprint scanner ; Doesn't skimp on storage

Dual camera is not as impressive as Honor might like ; Flash sales are annoying ; Only runs EMUI 4.1 (for now) ; Micro USB? Seriously

Honor does a lot right with the 6X. The phone's attractive, while not being particularly flashy, offers some solid hardware for casual usage without getting weighed down by too many extraneous bells and whistles, and runs software that, while it's...

Honor 6X review: Premium dual camera smartphone priced at one third of an iPhone

At the beginning of January I posted my first impressions of the Honor 6X and since then have had the opportunity to use the device as my daily driver for a couple of weeks.

High quality design, fit, and finish ; Extremely low price ; MicroSD expansion card ; Long battery life ; Loud mono speaker

No NFC for wireless payments ; No water resistance

CES 2017: Hands-on with the dual camera $250 Honor 6X

Huawei starts off the new year with the 5X successor, the Honor 6X, that brings a dual camera experience with a long battery life and sleek all-aluminum form factor to the US market.

Honor 6X Review: Flagship Features for a Fraction of the Price

Sporting a mostly metal design, a fingerprint reader and nifty dual-rear cameras, the Honor 6X has features that you used to be able to find only on phones twice this price. It offers pretty decent performance and above-average battery life. Unless...

Attractive price ; Dual rear cameras ; Bright, 5.5-inch FHD display ; Solid performance for the price

No USB-C ; Rear panel isn't fully metal ; Doesn't ship with Android 7.0

The Honor 6X goes all in on value, giving you dual rear cameras, a fingerprint sensor and other features usually reserved for higher-priced phones.

Honor 6X Review

Huawei is known to make smartphones to cater to every market imaginable and the Honor 6X is for what you can call the younger generation that may not care all about the crazy specs or can't swallow the high premiums of devices that hover in the...

I personally felt like the Honor 6X was a vast improvement over the Honor 5X and that made it much more enjoyable to use. With a price point of $250 it hovers under some of the stronger mid-rangers such as the OnePlus 3T or Axon 7 but that’s good. If...
