Mini review video: Our verdict on the Moto X Pure in under a minute

Thanks to upstarts like OnePlus, Motorola has more competition in the "cheap but good" phone category than it used to. That said, the company's third-generation...

Moto X Pure Edition review: The third time really is the charm

Other devices might have a slight performance edge over the new Moto X, but the Pure Edition still manages to feel like the most elegant of the cheap-good smartphones we've seen this year. Among other things, we appreciate its stylish, customizable...

Sleek, customizable design ; Greatly improved camera ; Thoughtful Moto software tricks ; Expandable memory ; Works on every US carrier

Fast, but not quite asfast as some of itsrivals ; Mediocre battery life ; Camera still isn't great in low light

The last two years have seen Motorola take huge leaps in the quality of its flagships, so it's no shock that the Pure Edition is the best phone the company has ever made. Sure, it might not be the most technically powerful device out there, but it...

Motorola Moto X Pure Edition (Unlocked)

The Motorola Moto X Pure Edition is in the same class of unlocked, affordable flagship phones as the OnePlus 2, with one huge advantage: You can actually buy it.

Attractive customization options. Mostly stock Android with little bloatware. Fast charging. MicroSD slot. Great sound. Excellent call quality.

Low-light camera performance needs work. Average battery life. Tends to run warm.

Software and Conclusions The Moto X runs almost-stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, with zero bloatware (unless you count Motorola's apps, which are actually very useful). Because the device is unlocked, there are no carrier apps cluttering things up. Our...

Moto X Pure Edition review: the upper middle class of phones

The ideal Android smartphone looks like this: it has good design, fast performance, clean software, and it doesn't cost as much as an iPhone. Motorola's been chasing that ideal since 2013 with its...

Efficient design ; No bloatware ; Attractive price

Camera focus is unreliable ; Materials aren’t as premium as competition

Review: Moto X Pure Edition

Motorola's been making smart, adaptive phones for years. Now it's making good ones.

All phones should be this aware and adaptive. Moto Maker remains wonderful. Camera, screen, everything is high-end

Still some bugs and holes in Motorola's Android customizations. This is a big phone that feels huge

Motorola Moto X Pure Edition (unlocked) review

I like the Moto X Pure Edition (or Style as its globally known), but I was honestly ready to love it. For one thing, it's an unlocked phone available directly from Motorola at a reasonable price, and it's designed to work on all of the major US...

The Motorola Moto X Pure Edition lets you pick your design. It also has expandable storage, loud front speakers and charges quickly.

The handset's bigger size may be unwieldy for some, its battery life is just average and it's hitting a market increasingly crowded with more affordable superphones.

If you're into self-expression and want a big phone, you'll benefit from the affordable Motorola Moto X Pure Edition. Otherwise, shop around.

Motorola Moto X Style / Motorola Moto X Pure Edition Review

The Moto X Style is Motorola's brand new flagship smartphone and replaces the 2014 edition of the Moto X. We've had a chance to try the new model before launch, and we took it out to capture a range of sample shots in varying light conditions.

Motorola MOTO EM330 (AT&T)

The Motorola MOTO EM330 is a good choice for music fans looking for a free handset, but it struggles to stand out.

Good call quality. Supports stereo Bluetooth. Standard headphone jack.

Poor camera. Very low-resolution internal screen. Not much of a looker.

Motopure H15

The $130 Motorola Motopure H15 is the only Bluetooth headset I've tested with a folding microphone design. To talk or turn on the headset, you flip open the boom, which then sits on your cheek (a bit like a mini-clamshell mechanism); closing the boom...

Effective noise cancellation Convenient flip microphone mechanism

Pricey Some voice breakup during calls

The H15's call button was easy to access and wide enough to accommodate my whole fingertip. And the long slender volume rocker worked great, once I realized that it was more efficient to use two fingers to operate it
