Samsung Galaxy A5 Smartphone Review

Who knew? Samsung stuck to polycarbonate, removable batteries and a slightly fancy design for years... and then it launches the Galaxy A lineup and takes a U-turn. We will see whether there are more surprises by examining the 5-inch Galaxy A5 model.

Stylish metal casing, Plain, elegant design, Very slim and stiff casing, Screen's superb color reproduction, High brightness and very good viewing angles, Extensive software, Decent camera equipment, Accurate touchscreen, Virtually no palpable...

Non-removable battery now, Preloaded adware apps, Speaker's unfavorable position..., ...and quality, Microphone occasionally clicks

The Galaxy A5 is not exactly cheap, but the buyer gets a round total package. The stylish, slim and very rigid casing sets standards in the mid-range, the camera configuration is generous, and the input devices are pleasingly accurate. Besides that, it...

Samsung Galaxy A5 and A5 Duos review: Five star

Samsung's newly found love for "premium build" is spilling down the ranks and if the new A-series get half the love and attention the S-line has been getting, it will be a job well done. The South Koreans are right to try and stir things up in the...

Both Single SIM and Dual SIM models come LTE-equipped on many markets (Cat. 4 LTE 150/50Mbps) ; 5" Super AMOLED of 1280 x 720px resolution, ~294ppi ; All-metal body with premium matte finish and low 123g weight ; Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit chipset,...

Snapdragon 410 is more befitting cheaper, lower midrange devices ; It's comparatively pricey for the hardware features offered ; On the Dual-SIM version you can't have both a secondary SIM and microSD card inside ; Battery is non-removable

Samsung did well with the Galaxy A5, which should surprise no one who have already seen the Alpha - or the Galaxy A3 for that matter. The phone is built to flagship standards. It has great aesthetics and Samsung have picked the materials to match the...

Samsung Galaxy A5 review

The Samsung Galaxy A5 has an ultraslim, aluminium design and an excellent selfie camera. But although it costs less than the flagship S5, its mid-range spec means that it's still over-priced for what you get.

The Galaxy A5 certainly has a premium look. With its ultraslim form and aluminium body, it's a nicer looking phone than the flagship S5. And yet, despite its gorgeous design, we're going to take half a mark off our rating because of that annoying...

Samsung Galaxy A5 Review

Rather than completely dropping last year's Alpha design, Samsung reworked it for a new and much more compelling product for the mid-range market. The Galaxy A5 is a $400 smartphone inside a $700 body. Samsung Galaxy A5 Review.

Excellent build quality. Great display and camera. Snapdragon 410 is a modest, powerful enough upgrade.

This mid-range handset is at least $100 too expensive. No Android 5.0 upgrade just yet.

We take a closer look at Samsung's first device with a full metal construction in this in-depth review of the Samsung Galaxy A5!

Aluminium build feels great ; Fast and accurate camera ; Snappy performance ; Beautiful screen

Awkward location for speaker grill ; Status-quo Samsung design ; Chrome around lip chips easily

Samsung Galaxy A5 review: Marvellous exterior, mid-range interior - Pocket-lint

In this job we are constantly jostling between different phones. Often they're the latest and greatest handsets, so when a mid-range model such as the

Delightful design (prefer it to SGS5), bright and colourful display, fair price makes more sense than original Galaxy Alpha, powerful enough to cater for most, 4G connectivity

Outspecced by Sony Z3 Compact, not Android Lollipop (which we think will smooth out OS slickness), would like a more significant battery, low-light camera ability

As a nod to where Samsung is heading with design, the Galaxy A5 is a great example of quality. Indeed, we'd rather have one in the pocket than the flagship Galaxy S5 - but that's just about to be replaced with the S6 come April, which fuses the best of...

Samsung Galaxy A5 review

The larger rival to Sony Xperia Z3 Compact

Neat design ; More powerful screen

Still feels slightly odd ; Could be more expensive than better specced models

A neat package that finally points to Samsung sorting out the design problems it's had for years.

Samsung Galaxy A5

Samsung has mastered the high-end with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, but it has always struggled a with affordable devices. This is because Samsung kept skimping on important features to save money.
