I've owned this for about 2 months now, running it wht 4GB of RAM and dual opteron 254 (2.8ghz) processors. I've run it without any failure from a colocation facility. Strongly reccomended to anyone looking to build up a powerful Opteron system. This...

Stable, makes great use of the 2U form factor. It is great being able to put 8 10k RPM drives in the front of this and not having to worry about them being too hot, this design moves a ton of air through the chasis

It is unclear whether or not this system will support dual core processors. I spent quite a while looking around Tyan's site and nothing/not enough was explicitly stated. A minor thing, but the PCB that holds the LEDs and power/reset button on mine...

Using the power of dual 64-bit AMD Opteron processors and the high I/O bandwidth capabilities of the HyperTransport architecture, the Tyan Transport TA26 (B2882) provides system builders and IT managers with the capability to expand their networks to the fullest extent. The Transport TA26 (B2882) has everything required for storage scalability and expansion, including eight hot-swap 3.5" drive bays, built-in video port, three PCI-X 133MHz expansion slots on riser, and three network ports (two Gigabit and one 10/100Mbps). Add to this package the support for up to 16GB of DDR400 (PC3200) reg. ECC memory, and a full suite of external indicators, remote management options, and a slim CD-ROM drive that comes standard, and the choice becomes clear: the Transport TA26 (B2882) is the answer to quick, efficient solution setup and execution.
