Onboard ICH10R Intel Matrix Storage controller is NOT supported in ESXi. ESXi reports it as a software RAID controller. So do not plan on installig ESXi on to a couple of mirrored drives or RAID 5 drives using it. ESXi will see the drives just no raid....

Lots of horsepower for low cost. 4 x 3.5" drives in a 1u form factor, not many companies offer this

ich10r responsible for raid configs. it is unable to build a raid 5 array larger than 2TB, (3x 1tb drives). Limitation of ich10. this is a problem for people like me who have 4x 1tb dives in these servers. forced to go with a 3x raid5 + cold spare......
