Apex is a recognizable brand name and it is usually associated with quality products. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this model (Apex Digital AD-1165 DVD Player) to anyone, NOT EVEN as a second unit for a child or bedroom. It has a stylist chassis, ...

Nice looking unit, plays well most the time.

Has issue with sound on some DVD media.
