Maybe i'm out of luck?

 

Just got this item today and tried to scan some pix but very disappointed. Perhaps I'm out of luck getting a broken scanner. This is the message I received when trying to scan a pix: "Release the lock switch, detach the USB cable and reconnect....

got this to replace old scanner and to hook up to my motherlaws computer because old one would'nt work anymore. orderedd on the 6th got it today dang new egg thats fast. nice software package and no power cable to plug in.

Great scanner with CanoScan Toolbox software. Lets you scan documents in pdf, jpg, bmp and tiff formats with multiple settings. You can also save multiple pages under one pdf file.

Linux Users: This one works!

 

This scanner is compatible with Linux. It "just works" through SANE, no special drivers needed.

It's only 600x600 though quality is as good as many with higher resolution. USB powered.
