Scanners: HP Scanjet N6010

By M. David Stone (pcmag.com)

The HP Scanjet N6010 does a great job as a low-cost personal document scanner, but it doesn't handle business cards as well as it should.

Easy to use, with four definable scan buttons. Excellent choice for document scanning. Includes indexing software.

A little large for a desktop. Less than ideal for business-card scanning.

Met Expectations

By KFBB (bestbuy.com)

"We are happy with our scanner. We use it for professional purposes and large quantities of paper. So far it has worked great!"

Very easy to use, easy to setup, works as expected

The sheet loader doesn't always align the sheets perfectly

Not Up to HP Standards

By N/A (newegg.com)

When the scanner works, it is fast and quiet with good images. The hassle factor is to great to get much useful productivity out of the scanner.

Small Footprint. USB connection. Good Front Controls

Paper feeder is just bad. It feeds multiple pages most of the time when scanning a stack. Software is cranky. Paper jam in feeder locks everything up. I have to turn the scanner off and back on frequently to get it work with Acrobat 8. If paper jams, it a...

Would be great if it worked

By N/A (newegg.com)

The amount of time I save using this scanner is less than the amount of time I spend rescanning documents. I was more efficient with my cheapo flatbed scanner.

When this works it's great. It scans stacks of papers completely unattended and converts them to searchable PDFs

It rarely works. Quite often I have to scan 30+ page documents. I end up having to rescan document several times because of paper jams and skipped pages

Manufacturer's Description

Increase productivity with fast, unattended document scanning at up to 18 ppm (36 ipm). Load up to 50 pages into the document feeder to automatically scan while you attend to other work. Easily digitize the office file cabinet with included software.
