Did not work out of the box

Obviously it is not a Motorola, but I have never had the same issue with any other handheld barcode scanner, 1D or 2D.

N/A at this point, though if it actually worked the price would be great

It did not work out of the box. I tried it on a W7 x64 laptop (not on HCL), W7 x32 (on HCL), and also on a MacBook to no avail ; It appears to be decoding barcodes, but does not pass any data to the USB interface or respond to programming codes (such...

The economy version

I have bought several different bar code scanners from a couple of manufacturers. I bought this "entry level" scanner for a personal project. It looked very similar to Unitech's more expensive scanner, and I expected similar performance. I was a bit...

Inexpensive ; Supports wide variety of bar code formats ; Works OK when used correctly

Somewhat picky about where to hold scanner relative to the bar code location

Works as designed

Works as designed, software is not that difficult to figure out. Plug into computer, open excel spreadsheet, scan something and it populates the field. No brainer

Scan area is not a thin line but a large rectangle, which makes scanning barcodes (like those found on computers, etc) very difficult. I wasn't able to determine if this was the type of scanner it was, by the description, but it works as designed

Good for cheap

It works great for what we needed, scanning bar codes ; Can only scan about 2 inches away, but that is what the specs said ; Great buy for simple scanning

cheap scanner

Cheap. Scans flat surfaces

This scanner has a very difficult job scanning curved surfaces or small barcodes. If you are planning on using it for more than the occasional scan, do yourself a favor and get a proper laser based scanner

Works perfect

Reads from a distance of about 1"-1.5". Being LED and not laser i cant consider that a con. Besided 1-2" is more then I need as this will be a stationary reader. Using this for a program I am writing in C# and works perfectly. Too early to comment on...

Lightweight, ergonomic, nice long USB cord. The manual is very cool and you can program the barcode scanner directly from the manual with scans. Highly customizable. Complies with all the barcode standard i will ever need. Cheap price

It does work

For the price this unit is not bad if you can scan items up close.

It does read bar codes. Out of the box it was PLUG-N-PLAY. Programming was pretty easy for the custom steps that I needed it to perform

I missed it in the Tech Specs that the gun can only read out as far as 1"....(ONE INCH) This scanning distance was not suitable for my warehouse operation. I did not like the feel of the gun in hand. It is very bulky or cumbersome in the hand

Works great

Seriously, Intuit charging 4x the retail price for commodity hardware is just completely ridiculous. Heck, the receipt printer we bought WITH Quickbooks is no longer supported and the drivers on the QB cd didn't work, we had to get a driver from an...

Plugged it in, worked great. Worked out of the box in less than a minute after plugging in. Did not need to restart Quickbooks POS5 after plugging this in for it to work. It's also about 1/4th the price Intuit wants for the same hardware (no lie, they...
