I am very pleased with my WVC80N.

Still have several things to try with this device. Updated on Jul 3, 2011

Picture and sound quality are better than most ; The built in web server performs as advertized ; If you consider that a mid range N class wireless router will give you around 600 to 1000 ft of range ; And the WVC80N runs on 5.5 volts at 1 amp, it is...

I wish the web server offered more features, like perhaps 10 meg of user space for customization ; This is a rather minimal gripe since it can easily be incorporated into any other website. And I only say this because there is an open source USB Web...

Noisy Audio when used wirelessly

I purchased two WVC80Ns, and BOTH had a background clicking noise from the microphone audio when used wirelessly. When researching the problem, I came across several other posts with the same issue, and never saw a successful resolution. Some people...

Good features for the price

Noisy (wireless) audio ; Remote viewing set-up not easy

do not buy

This is hands down the worst electronic device I've ever purchased. Very bad support (hours on phone with no result). Very difficult to set up. Product simply does not work as advertised

Decent security camera

The deal breaker here for me is the limited choice of the recording feature. It's either always record, or scheduled recording. No motion detection triggered recording to your samba drive. Although there is an option to send you a small clip to...

Extremely easy setup with the included CD ; Nice design compared to other brand ; Decent video quality

No screws included for wall mounting ; No good motion detection triggered recording, basically limited choices for recording ; No horizontal/vertical video mirror

No Good as a baby monitor

Good piece of hardware. The software was ok. Lots of features to play with.

I was easily able to set this camera up. It had no problem connecting to my existing WiFi network. If the room has adequate lighting, the picture is great

For low light room (even those with a night light in them) the picture was dark or just simly black. Also the delay when you view the images through the rtsp service had an extreme delay (longer than I was willing to wait when using this as a baby...

Total Junk

If you just want to use it for a wired camera then it is fine. But to place it anywhere with out a wire it is worthless. Usually Linksys makes good products, this one is not.

Works well wired

Will not work wireless. I've worked with many IP Cameras. This one simply does not work. Perhaps it is a bad camera, I don't know. Don't have time to RMA so I'm just going to throw it in the trash

Weak antenna

This unit just isn't worked out.

easy to set up, especially with their software

weak antenna. I want it on the edge of my network, apparently, and it doesn't get a signal, while my iPhone and my laptop have no problem in the same location. I have moved it around quite a bit but no luck getting a stable signal ; The physical unit...

Linksys Wireless-N+RJ45 IP Camera with 1-Way Audio / Wi-Fi Protected Setup / MAX Resolution 640x480(WVC80N)

(1) Does not have night vision - will transmit black screen in darkness, and highly noisy picture in low light. However sensitivity can be adjusted within limits. (2) 1-way sound works only remotely - cannot be tested from within the network. (3) have...

(1) Very good video quality (after adjusting quality in camera's "Image" menu). (2) works both wired and wireless (have to be setup while connected wired); (3) painless setup (provided you are not a newbie in networking - automatic software setup did...

(1) Do not buy this if you do not have Linksys router, are not network savvy, or want to view the video from a highly secure environment like govt. office; (2) "automatic" setup through "TZO" server (will work only for Linksys router) is a trial...

Linksys WBC80N wireless IP Camera

I wanted a crib monitor that we could view at any of 3 computers throughout the house. It does that, but as noted above, I don't typically use IE, so I just need to open IE if I want audio. My daughter and son-in-law can view remotely without much...

crisp image 640 x 480 ; seems to be stable wirelessly over a month's use ; Was able to get it to work with so that my daughter can link to camera without having to keep track of ip address and port number

Audio only works with Internet Explorer ; Other browsers (firefox, safari) return only video ; Can view only on iPhone 4. Couldn't get it to work on blackberry

Good Stuff

i have this setup in my apartment by the door since mgmt put it into my lease that they can enter anytime and won't let me change the locks ; products works as intended/advertised ; not hard to setup

bit clunky with dark situations or situations where light changes fast
