Great product, xlnt price

Just got it two days ago. Works fine, nice image. Planning to mount it outdoors this weekend. Plays well with others on the local network.

(1) Pretty much bulletproof ; (2) Good optics ; (3) Easy setup

(1) Don't care for white trim ; (2) Optical zoom would have been sweet ; (3) No built-in IR lamp for nighttime monitoring

End Of Life Product...

Just thought everyone should know this about it since Cisco is not great about supporting End of Life Products in my experiences: End-of-Life Announcement Date September 1, 2011 End-of-Sale Date The last date to order the product through Cisco...

Where's my earlier review?

I took my time to revise this great little PTZ network camera. But was not listed...why?

Works

No cons

Works great!

When the camera moves it makes some noise, but again it's not a big deal to me. Another very nice function is you can shut off the L.E.D.'s so it looks like the camera is off. Decent image quality and ok sound, the pan/tilt doesn't react super fast but...

Pan/Tilt function, audio, wireless

Size, but not a huge deal really because I'm not trying to be sneaky

Hit and miss

Windows 7 users, just setup a shortcut to "Run as Administrator" and the software works fine. I use this both with the software that comes with it and ZoneMinder ( free Linux software) to get reliable motion capture alarm emails. IP Cam Viewer (Pro)...

Pretty easy to setup, it is wireless

The video recording is hit and miss, I often find 1 to 2 minute gaps which is not good if you really need it to record everything. It's stretching the truth to call this a PTZ camera, it Does Pan and Tilt but I haven't found any real Zoom feature....

Do NOT waste your time and money on this product

video is fine when working

camera was setup 100% correctly but is consistently freezing/hanging after about an hour (making a high pitched noise on audio out when in this state) therefore completely unusable. i upgraded the firmware (note: a bad sign of lazy coding is that the...

Cisco Small Buisness Camera solutions are a force to be reckoned with.

I don't understand what the issues are that other users are experiencing. I'm a CCNA, but I honestly feel that any user should be able to setup and use this camera. I can tell from the verbiage in the other reviews that most problems are due to the...

Cost of camera. Ease of setup. GUI rich with options. Detailed and basic configuration options. Free video monitoring software. Overall design and implementation is great. Nice being able to monitor the camera from my IPAD 2 in bed over my network....

I had some issues trying to use the software with my Windows 7 PC, but I have a vista machine that runs the software just fine

Good Security Cam

The setup is easy (once you learn there are limitations using Safari or Firefox).Had to email the config file to the tech-support to modify it on the count of not having access to IE.Some issues re:motion detection - but resolved. It is basic but...

Product Specifications

The Cisco WVC210 Wireless-G PTZ Internet Video Camera sends live video through the Internet to a web browser anywhere in the world. The camera supports dual codecs (MPEG-4 and MJPEG), which can be used simultaneously. MPEG-4 gives efficient bandwidth consumption with good-quality compression and is optimal for real-time viewing of video. MJPEG gives optimal video quality, making it ideal for large-volume storage to a network attached storage (NAS) device. The Cisco WVC210's audio capabilities include two-way audio, an embedded microphone, external speaker and microphone ports, and voice compression. With extensive support for features such as IP multicast, Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), Real Time Protocol (RTP), and 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), it enables video to be viewed from multiple endpoints and client applications, such as 3G phones and QuickTime clients on PCs or Wi-Fi phones. Network protocols such as 802.1p priority, 802.1Q VLANs, and Dynamic DNS (DDNS) are also supported. The WVC210 can also be managed securely using HTTPS. The pan/tilt and digital zoom functions allow you to remotely control the camera movement and focus, giving you maximum remote flexibility. Up to 10 simultaneous unicast users can access the camera at any time. Software is included for monitoring multiple cameras and recording to your hard drive, with advanced search by time and date. Recording can be set up to start by motion trigger or by manual or scheduled recording. Playback is available on Windows Media Player, with no need for a proprietary player. You can also enable security mode, which tells the camera to send a message with a short attached video to up to three email addresses whenever it detects motion in its field of view. You can then log in to the live video stream if the situation warrants. Wireless security features include Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), and WPA2.
