Panasonic DMP-BD10A
Excellent picture quality on Blu-ray and DVD; DVD upconversion to 720p, 1080i, and 1080p; on-board decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD High Resolution; HDMI output; DVD-Audio support; sleek design.
Bad remote; annoying front flip-down panel; somewhat slow load times.
If you're set on a standalone Blu-ray player, the Panasonic DMP-BD10A should definitely be on your short list.

Panasonic DMP-BD10
Excellent picture quality on Blu-ray and DVD; DVD upconversion to 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p; HDMI output; DVD-Audio support; sleek design.
Very expensive; terrible remote; annoying front flip-down panel on unit; relatively slow load times; no HDMI 1.3.
The Panasonic DMP-BD10 is a very competent first-generation Blu-ray player, but its high price and the comparably affordable PlayStation 3 make it hard to recommend.

We obviously haven't seen it yet, but Panasonic's first entry in the Blu-ray arena is somewhat remarkable in at least one respect- unlike the Pioneer and Sony players it will playback CDs! In addition to playing back HD from Blu-ray Disc, the Panasonic...

Panasonic flies the Blu-ray flag with impressive results. You're gonna need deep pockets though!
Panasonic also provides an RGB-capable Scart output plus component, S-video and composite outputs. On the audio front, there are 7.1-channel analogue audio outputs, which reveals that the DMP-BD10 is fitted with a Dolby Digital Plus decoder (alongside...
