Samsung BD-C5500
Excellent Blu-ray image quality; Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, and Pandora media streaming, plus the expandable Samsung Apps platform; DLNA-compliant.
Sluggish operational speed; no built-in Wi-Fi; compatible Wi-Fi dongle is too expensive; last year's Samsung Blu-ray players had questionable reliability.
The BD-C5500's expandable Samsung Apps platform and DLNA compatibility make it stand out from other entry-level players, although it's one of the slower players we've tested.

This entry-level Blu-ray player offers core Blu-ray features like BD-Live and BonusView support, as well as DLNA streaming, WiFi-readiness, and the excellent Samsung Apps Web platform. For $179.99, it's a great package. ...

The BD-C5500 lacks multichannel analog audio outputs, so it's not the best choice for someone who owns an older, non-HDMI A/V receiver ; The player lacks built-in WiFi and an advanced control port like RS-232 ; The BD-C5500 is not 3D-capable

The BD-C5500 is Samsung's new entry level blu-ray player in the sub'00 market. Although it's an entry level player it does come with many of the latest features, multimedia capabilities and streaming content from the web.

First time I got this connected, I was amazed how small it was compared to my Panasonic DVD player, connections are typical hdmi, audio left and right . Since iam connected with hdmi to my Samsung 50 inch plasma using anynet which allows me to use...

None that I can think of
Consumer review (cnet.com)
Not many. Plays blu-rays well; upconverts SD DVDs to pretty much HD quality. Low cost - bought on sale for less than $150. Out-of-the-box not bad.
Hangs on Internet TV app FOREVER, will NOT ever finish loading. Hangs on VUDU app; never finishes loading. This is after I updated to the latest firmware. Prior to firmware upgrade, it worked okay, but also updated my NetGear wireless WNCE2001 f/w.
Consumer review (newegg.com)
