Yamaha's new entry-level player has added a couple of worthwhile features--namely, Netflix video-on-demand and DLNA streaming. However, the BD-S667 ($329.95) lacks some options you can find in less-expensive models, such as 3D support and...
The BD-S667 supports 1080p/24 playback of Blu-ray discs ; The player has internal Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding and can pass these formats in bitstream form over HDMI ; It supports BD-Live Web content and can play picture-in-picture...

Not a spectacular Blu-ray player but it's certainly a big improvement on previous Yamaha decks.

Yamaha's BD-S667 Blu-ray player is a whizz at multimedia file playback
Excellent file compatibility from USB or streaming across a network ; Good BD playback
No internal BD Live memory ; Bland design

It's perhaps ironic that Yamaha, the original proponent of home cinema and multichannel sound, came to the Blu-ray party a little late in the day. But the brand has been playing catch-up fast.
Excellent file compatibility from USB or streaming across a network; good BD playback
No internal BD Live memory; bland design
