HTC EVO 3D review: An extra dimension

As 3D is taking over theaters and living rooms around the world, the craze is hitting handheld too. The next thing to shake up the business or on the way to irrelevance: geeks will geek about it either way. Now that the HTC EVO 3D has grown a GSM...

Quad-band GSM and dual/tri-band 3G support ; 14.4 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA ; 4.3" 16M-color stereoscopic capacitive LCD touchscreen of qHD resolution (540 x 960); Gorilla glass ; Android OS v2.3 Gingerbread with HTC Sense 3.0 ; 1.2 GHz dual...

Less than impressive screen performance outdoors ; Speed and productivity not on par with other dual-cores ; Rather heavy ; Low resolution 3D stills ; The two cameras are too far apart for good stereoscopic close-ups

The HTC EVO 3D is a hard phone to review. It so wants to be the best at everything it does that it’s bound to end up with quite a mixed scorecard. The problem with this one is that establishing its worth to users is impossible without knowing their...

HTC EVO 3D vs. HTC Sensation 4G: Head to head

The HTC power duo which includes the Sensation 4G and the EVO 3D barely needs an introduction. The dual-core phones are among the most powerful Android handsets available for sale in the United States and are favorites of both the consumers and the...

Review: HTC EVO 3D

There's no question HTC's latest EVO is a lightning-fast workhorse. The real question is: What's this 3-D thing all about?

The 3-D filming feature is fun, plain and simple, regardless of its limitations. Cloud-based music and video streams without major hiccups. Screen resolution is amazing. Call quality is a double thumbs up

Battery life is less than optimal. Bootloader should be unlocked. The included 8GB microSD card is not enough storage, especially for a phone capable of 3-D captures. Device doesn’t come with ear buds. I want my kickstand. Google Voice notifications...

HTC EVO 3D

I'm not sold on 3D for consumer devices, and I'm certainly skeptical of it on a smartphone-size screen. However, Sprint and HTC make a great team, so I decided to keep an open mind about the HTC EVO 3D. Did the EVO 3D change my opinion of 3D phones?...

Fast dual-core speeds ; Ultimate entertainment phone ; Gorgeous design

3D cool, but gimmicky ; Call quality uneven

Uneven call quality doesn't stop the EVO 3D from being the best phone currently available on Sprint.

HTC EVO 3D (Sprint)

The 4G-equipped, Android-Based HTC EVO 3D for Sprint is the nation's first 3D phone, but it struggles with making phone calls and connecting to the Web.

Dual-core processor. Gorgeous Android skin. Latest version of Android. No-glasses 3D screen.

Lousy call quality. Trouble connecting to Internet. 3D has offers a very narrow viewing angle.

HTC Evo 3D (Sprint) review: HTC Evo 3D (Sprint)

HTC Evo 3D (Sprint)

The ; improves on its predecessor with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and a larger battery. The Android Gingerbread smartphone also features a glasses-free 3D display and can capture 3D photos and video.

The smartphone doesn't offer much internal memory, and call quality could be better. The glasses-free 3D display has limited viewing angles and depth of field.

The 3D features are a fun addition, but it's the HTC Evo 3D's zippy performance and improved battery life that make this Android smartphone one of Sprint's best.

HTC Evo 3D review

HTC's Evo 4G legacy is something of a rarity in the smartphone industry. Sprint used it as a gateway drug for its WiMAX service — "4G" back when that nomenclature meant something (and was used to...

Sturdy design ; Fast hardware ; 3D optional (but does work!)

Small viewing angles for 3D ; Some nasty software glitches ; Symptoms of 3D can include dizziness, eye strain, nausea...

Is this phone good because of 3D or in spite of it? Well, neither, actually

HTC EVO 3D Review

The HTC EVO and its chanting followers is something we rarely see in the smartphone industry, back when it launched it had a very quick rise to fame. I mean it had that huge 4.3" screen that made all the other phones around look tiny, it had 4G and it...

Is the HTC EVO 3D your next device or should you wait to see what comes next, is that what you all want to hear? Does the 3D alone make this a worthy upgrade from my original EVO might be another question you’re all wondering. I’d have to say yes — the...

HTC EVO 3D Review

Blasting its way to the top of Sprint's lineup, the HTC EVO 4G continues to be a renowned handset even to this day, but more importantly, it's one of the evolutionary devices that seemingly set the bar high when it was released a year ago. Granted that...
