Canon PowerShot Elph 160

The Canon PowerShot Elph 160 is one of the least expensive compact cameras you can buy, but you're better off spending just a little bit more on a point-and-shoot.

Very affordable. Quick startup and focus. Compact. 8x zoom lens.

Disappointing rear LCD. No optical image stabilization. Lacks Wi-Fi. Omits Canon Creative Shot. Image noise is an issue. Video limited to 720p.

Performance and Conclusions The Elph 160 starts and shoots in a very reasonable 1.4 seconds, focuses in just about 0.1-second, and shoots continuously at 0.7fps. You can gain some shot-to-shot speed by moving up to a more expensive camera—the N100...

Smart Auto shooting mode is accurate and easy in all situations ; Dedicated Video Capture Button is always ready to record ; Bright 2.7-inch LCD is easy to see in most shooting situations ; Good Battery Life ; Very Affordable

High levels of noise at all ISO settings ; Lacking shooting performance ; Weak built-in flash ; No Full 1080p HD video capture ; No HDMI output for HD movies on an HDTV ; No Optical image stabilization ; No sharing features

Canon IXUS 160

The Ixus is Canon's pocket size camera range, it does however benefit from all the technology that its larger siblings have in terms of technology so do not reject this unit simply because its small enough to fit inside the smallest pocket.

The Canon Ixus 160 Compact Digital Camera measures 9.5x5.5x2cm and weights only 126grams. The right side has a rubberised edge which at the top lifts to reveal A/V out. In the centre is a clip to attach a wrist strap. The base has a tripod screw anchor...

Great Little Camera

For the price this camera can not be beaten. I bought 4 of them for the office and last year I bought one for my Mom. She absolutely loves it and once my brother got a hold of it it wanted one for himself.

Has everything one needs to shoot images of high quality.

No Panorama Mode, and it would be a nice feature to have a Slow Motion mode. Wish it ran on double A batteries.
