Ryze Tello

The Ryze Tello is a toy quadcopter flyable via smartphone or laptop (using Scratch). Its video quality isn't anything to write home about, but it's a fun tech toy and learning tool.

Inexpensive. Easy to fly. Programmable via Scratch. Bluetooth remote control compatibility. Automated flight modes.

Pixelated, low-quality video. Limited control range. No GPS or return-to-home capability.

The Ryze Tello isn't for serious video work or long-distance flight, but that's okay. There are plenty of capable, and more expensive, drones out there that scratch that itch, such as the DJI Mavic Air. Instead it addresses an underserved market: folks...

Ryze Tech Tello Drone Review: Fun Goes Only So Far

The Tello drone is fun to fly with responsive controls that work for beginners and experienced pilots. The App is simple to use and captures nice (if somewhat jerky) video. But if you are thinking about this as a fun way to learn programming, forget...

Small, fast drone ; Easy to control ; Comfortable remote control

Scratch programming language is difficult to set up ; Battery life is short

The Ryze Tech Tello is a fun, simple drone to fly, but its programming feature is poorly executed, and its battery life is short.

Ryze Tello Review

The result of a partnership with Ryze and DJI, the Ryze Tello packs a whole lot of technology into a very small and affordable package. This is a perfect...

The is the best $100 drone on the market. It's not quite capable of producing truly cinematic footage, but it is perfect for honing your pilot skills and for kids that want a fun flying toy.

Ryze Tello review

The Ryze Tello is a budget learner drone that can shoot 720p video. Is it still best beginner drone you can buy right now?

Responsive flight controls Good battery life Lightweight, compact build

Choppy video No stability in wind Low control range

The Tello flies beautifully but a limited range and inability to deal with wind restrict its aerial capabilities. Its video camera isn't great, but decent battery life and a simple app make it appealing as a first drone.

Ryze Tello review

This DJI-powered charmer is a fine taster drone for beginners...

HD video recording ; EZ Shots are a fun introduction to drone-tography ; It does somersaults! ; Packed with advanced flight tech ; Very easy to control

Infrequent but annoying technical hiccups ; Framerate issues with quick movements ; Only usable outside when it’s windless ; Feels a bit delicate

Not without its technical shortcomings, but there’s no better £100 toy drone on the market right now

Best non GPS drone you can buy

A fun drone for adults and older kids (and younger kids with supervision). Nice features and tricks which are courtesy of Mavic who partnered on this project. Fly indoors (with caution) and outside if the wind is light. Camera is 720p which is far...

Great device, boyfriend loved his gift!

It takes great pictures and videos. It is great for first time users, very easy to use and super cool. My partner has been using this everyday since he got it. You can control the drone through an all you have to download
