HP 255 G4 review

You can't expect greatness from a laptop that costs less than £300, but if you need something that will get the job done and has all the essentials, this HP is well worth your attention. Here's our HP 255 G4 review

The HP 255 G4 is a budget 15.6in Windows laptop with budget build and performance. We found no single serious flaw and it should get the job done eventually, making it ideal if you're on a tight budget and don't need lots of speed or a high-quality...

HP 255 G4

It's just the perfect size and very comfortable to use. It's easy to download things on and play games, watch movies, do some written work. Also I love the fact that it's is quite cheap and has 500GB storage!

There's not much I don't like except auto update annoyed me. It can freeze sometimes but that is extremely rare(maybe when you play some video games).

HP 255 G4

The laptop is at present used as a backup for my main laptop. It represents excellent value for money. Do not expect it to perform as well as a much more expensive machine, but for my purposes it is excellent (general home use). It has a USB 3.0 port...

The touchpad is awkward to use but as I use a separate cordless mouse this does not affect my use. The WiFi is a single band and it therefore does not have the facility to transfer between bands. Does not affect my WiFi use. The 255 has Win 10 as the...

Good value alternative to a Pentium / Core i3 with a more powerful graphics chipset

Laptop performance not brilliant but imo none of them are. An SSD would help matters but most desktop systems will always be faster.

-The laptop is very easy to manage, battery life is as explained, it's very spacious and doesn't weigh as much as you would think. Works very well and has everything you would need (bar Microsoft which you need to buy as always) and is an overall great...

-The built in internet Microsoft Edge is really slow so I recommend downloading Google Chrome as it is a lot more compatible and works faster. -I would highly recommend buying one of the anti-viruses when you are purchasing this laptop as I did not and...

The price makes this a good deal. No fuss computing.

Others have pointed out some minor niggles but they are not deal breakers.

Reasonable laptop and a lot of physical machine for the price.

Painfully slow, probably due to lack of memory and slow hard disk. Cannot be upgraded as unit is sealed.
