HP EliteBook 745 G5 (Ryzen 7 2700U) Laptop Review

Very good disappointment. AMD Ryzen, mostly known for offering CPUs for consumer products, now want to compete with Intel in the business market. The EliteBook 745 G5, based on the very good EliteBook 840 G5, seems to fit the bill - at least on paper....

AMD CPU delivers a better boost performance ; Higher GPU performance than Intel-iGPUs ; Sturdy metal case ; Comfortable input devices ; Solid ports including a docking port ; Plenty of security features ; Stays always cool and usually silent ; 3 years...

CPU & GPU are throttled a lot in some cases ; Poor battery life compared to competitors ; No Thunderbolt 3 ; No high resolution display option ; SSD slow for a PCIe-NVMe-SSD ; No SD card reader ; Doesn't reach 100% sRGB
