Canary All-In-One Home Security Device

The Canary All-In-One Home Security Device keeps tabs on your home with 1080p video capture and sensors for air quality, humidity, and temperature, but you'll have to pay extra to use many of its features.

Simple to install. Sharp 1080p video. Crystal clear night vision. Two-Way audio. Monitors air quality. Alexa and Google Assistant voice support.

Many features require a subscription plan. No local storage. Lacks native support for IFTTT.

Live on-demand video, sharp 1080p footage, and instantaneous mobile alerts are all good reasons to consider the Canary. It installs in minutes and keeps tabs on humidity levels, room temperature, and air quality in your home, and it lets you download...

This cloud-based security system delivers features galore, but it's far from perfect.

Canary has landed: Here's the full review

The hotly anticipated, all-in-one security gadget is here. Does it live up to its promise?

Canary offers impressive video quality including a highly detailed night vision mode. Its "Homehealth" sensors are accurate and helpful.

An over-sensitive motion sensor renders Canary borderline unusable, and we didn't receive text alerts when we cut the power.

Canary is packed with solid hardware, but it doesn't add up to a device we'd want to depend on.

Canary Smart Home Security Device ( White)

That, coupled with a strong marketing push, is why Canary did so well on Indiegogo back in 2013 , crowdfunding nearly two million dollars only to follow the effort up with millions more in venture capital from big names like Khosla Ventures . Canary...

Canary All-In-One Security Device Review

A high quality camera that offers unlimited downloads and a 24 hour video history without a subscription

Great video quality, useful non-subscription services

Real time viewing can be choppy

The Canary All-in-One is a great option if you want high quality video, are satisfied with a 24 hour video history of 10-second motion activated clips, and don't want to pay for a subscription. If you want something solely for real time viewing, or...

Review: Canary security camera learns your habits as it keeps watch

Two of the biggest drawbacks to home security systems is that many of them are difficult to install and that people aren't very keen on sharing their homes with obvious cameras staring at them. New York-based startup Canary's eponymous security device...

Out of the box, the Canary system is deceptively simple. There's the Canary camera/monitor unit, a secure setup cable, AC power adapter, micro-USB cable, and a Quick Start guide. In operation, the camera is self contained aside from the USB mains power...

Incredibly loud and always watching: Canary’s security camera reviewed

An alarm, emergency contacts, and night vision make Canary a capable watchdog.

Canary's chic design lets it double as a decorative piece as well as a home security device. ; Sharp 1080p video recording, and especially good night vision. ; Alarm is super loud, super annoying, and super terrifying. ; Lowest tier subscription plan...

Setup process is a little long and tedious. ; Location services can be buggy, not recognizing when you're home or away. ; No two-way voice feature, limiting your interaction with those on the other end of the camera.

Out of the box, Canary gives you access to the last 12 hours of video and up to five bookmarked videos that are stored in Canary's cloud, but no downloadable clips. Paid subscriptions come in three tiers: $5 per month for a two-day timeline, 25...

Canary All-in-One Smart Home Security Camera

Canary's smart home device is more than just a camera, with several useful features that make it more an all-in-one home-monitoring system. These include location-based notifications, an in-depth app, and environmental data that keeps track of air...

The Canary is extremely reliable but it lacks the extra features to make it stand out in a competitive market.

Canary All-In-One Home Security review: A bird in the hand

What goes on in your house when you're not there? That's the question that Canary is here to answer with its £159 smart home security system. We trust Canary. That's the bottom line here. There's a lot about it that really feels like "the one" as smart...

Inconspicuous design, great app experience, multiple users, recognises phones to deactivate as necessary, multiple sensors and alarm features, 12-hour free timeline

Regular false recognition, no bracket for variable positioning, future potential not yet realised from multiple sensors (no IFTTT, for example), subscription cost complexity, no recording downloads

We trust Canary. That's the bottom line here. There's a lot about it that really feels like "the one" as smart home security goes. It doesn't have the face recognition technology that Netatmo's added on to Welcome but we're not sure it really needs it....
