Logitech Circle View review: All about privacy

It's perfectly clear that the Logitech Circle View was built from the ground up to respect your privacy in the home. Never worry about someone snooping on you.

Doesn't require additional app download ; Electronic shutter helps with privacy ; Designed to work indoors & outdoors ; Straightforward setup

Requires paid iCloud subscription to save videos ; Pricey cost for basic security features

Logitech Circle View Review

Sharp 1080p video ; Works with HomeKit ; Weatherproof ; Easy to install

Only works with iOS devices ; Many features require an Apple device as a hub ; No Alexa or Google Assistant support ; Overly sensitive motion detection

The Logitech Circle View is an indoor/outdoor security camera that delivers crisp 1080p video and several smart features, but you’ll need an iCloud account and a compatible Apple device to serve as a hub to take advantage of most of them.

Logi's Circle cam isn't sure I'm human

The Logi Circle camera alerts you when it thinks it sees a person, but it ultimately isn't sure.

Setting up the Logi Circle Home Connection Camera takes less than 5 minutes and the app is easy to navigate.

Its people detection feature was somewhat inconsistent. The rechargeable battery lasts only a few hours and takes even longer to recharge. The Logi Circle doesn't work with any other Logitech products or products from other smart home manufacturers.

The Logi Circle is a decent live-streaming camera, but rechargeable models like Canary Flex and Netgear Arlo Pro do a better job.

Logi Circle

The Logi Circle is an attractive and easy-to-use home security camera that lacks a few of the more powerful scheduling and programming features of its competition.

Easy to set up and mount anywhere. Simple app and Web portal. Battery-powered option. Two-way voice communication.

No way to configure alerts or recordings. Battery doesn't last long enough for realistic wireless use.

Performance and Conclusions The Circle's hardware is capable of handling 1080p video, and as of a recent update can now stream and capture video in that resolution (it was limited by software to 720p at launch). Video quality is very good, though the...

Logitech Circle review: This camera puts more emphasis on 'home' than 'security'

The webcam manufacturer's first security camera feels like a work in progress.

Day Briefs provide a digest of recordings ; Setup is a snap ; App is dead simple to use

Relies on algorithms to determine what and when to record ; Lacks customization options ; Short-lived backup battery

Logitech has a long history in the home security-camera market, but this product has more in common with a webcam than its competition.

Logi Circle Home Connection Camera

For that reason, it wouldn't be fair to compare Circle to Icontrol's Piper NV , Homeboy or even free security camera apps like the Android -specific Salient Eye -- all options with clear security features, like built-in sirens and arm/disarm modes....

Setting up the Logi Circle Home Connection Camera takes less than 5 minutes and the app is easy to navigate.

There's little to no customization of features and settings within the app and no third-party partnerships. The full battery lasts less than 2 hours and takes even longer to recharge.

The Logi Circle is a decent webcam, but models like Nest Cam do a significantly better job for the same price.

Logi Circle Review – WiFi camera with a hit of hyperlapse

Logitech said it wanted its Logi brand to be more friendly than traditional computer peripherals, and the Circle home camera certainly fits the bill. A cutesy robot's eyeball of a WiFi-connected webcam, it aims to one-up Nest Camera courtesy of an...

Circle clearly has some lingering raw edges, but the good news is that Logi could – and indeed intends to – address them with software updates. With more control over clips and better sharing options I’d feel a lot more confident in recommending it....

The Circle offers decent video quality, flexible mounting options, and a simple app if you’re willing to pay a premium for a nanny/puppy cam. But the lack of customization options hamstring it as a security camera. A Logitech representative assured me...

Logitech Circle View Doorbell review: The doorbell to beat for the HomeKit set

Move along Android users, nothing to see here.

Full support for Apple’s Homekit Secure Video ; Records crisp video with HDR ; Excellent night vision, including color night vision ; Superb motion sensing, facial recognition, and privacy features

Will be of no interest to folks outside the Apple ecosystem ; Some competitors offer higher resolution and wider viewing angles ; Slightly more complicated to install than competing doorbells

The Logitech Circle View Doorbell on its own isn’t the most technologically advanced video doorbell on the market. There are competitors equipped with higher-resolution cameras and wider fields of view to be sure. But the video and AI assist it gets...
