Stylishly affordable… The latest Chi convertible from ASUS might not satisfy those with heavy computing needs, but it seems a compelling proposition for those in the market for an inexpensive 2-in-1. Can this lower-end alternative to Microsoft's...
Relatively solid, metal construction, Very portable and lightweight, Magnet-driven coupling mechanism, IPS screen with good resolution, brightness, and contrast, Physical keys with a higher-quality feel than that of the Surface Pro type cover, Great...
Cumbersome individual charging requirements for base and tablet, Inadequate system RAM, Small storage drive, Slow eMMC storage, No maintenance or upgrades possible, Shrunken keys make for difficult typing acclimation, Weak LCD color reproduction
It’s certainly not without its compromises, but for $399, there’s a lot to like about the incredibly portable ASUS T100 Chi. It’s got a passively-cooled chipset that still never feels terribly underpowered, it lasts a long time on a charge, and it’s...

Asus' Transformer line has been setting the benchmark for convertible laptop/tablets ever since the first Android-running model arrived in 2011. Now Asus is back with a new range that runs Windows.
Slim metal design looks and feels premium ; Keyboard and trackpad are far superior to most Bluetooth tablet keyboards ; Connectivity is better than most tablets ; Markedly smaller than a conventional ultrabook laptop
Performance is sluggish ; Windows still isn't a great tablet OS ; Screen quality has some issues ; Battery life not very good ; 2-in-1 design doesn't quite work

Say Chi - here's a 2-in-1 that'll make you smile
Build quality ; Display ; Fanless ; Battery life
Base/tablet charge seperately ; Micro-USB ports ; Skimps on storage ; Misses out on Cherry Trail
Strong build quality, an impressive display and solid battery life overcome a fiddly two-part charging mechanism and plethora of micro-USB ports. The Chi 100 isn't quite a budget device, but it's well worth the extra money.

It's all Zen and Chi over at Asus HQ of late. The company's latest laptop-meets-tablet, the Transformer Book T100 Chi, has meditated its way to a slimmer, fitter state than its more letter-laden T100TAF predecessor, presenting a slender design that...
Slender design doesn't scrimp on quality considering the price, decent enough battery life for day's work, greater-than-Full HD display, Full Windows 8.1, affordable price point
Micro-USB ports won’t suit all, occasional keyboard lag, reflective screen, small keyboard dock keys, both parts need separate charging, battery depletion during sleep
The Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi is an impressive 2-in-1, and we'd pick its full Windows 8 setup over a Chromebook competitor without hesitation. For the price there are few competitors to challenge this Asus, especially ones as trim and well made.

Asus gives the 10in hybrid a style upgrade
Sharp screen ; Classy design ; Smart stylus
Not all that much power ; Finicky wireless keyboard base
The T100 Chi is neither the most powerful or most fully featured hybrid, but it's among the classiest and best for overall value

We like the price and functionality of the Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi, but it suffers from the usual Windows tablet issues
Promoted as a 2-in-1 tablet and laptop solution, the little Transformer Book T100 Chi is simply a Windows 8 tablet with a clip-on wireless keyboard. Put together the result looks quite smart and we cannot fault build and finish quality at the price....

The T100 Chi is the latest in Asus' range of 2-in-1 laptop hybrids. With a 10.1-inch FHD display, it is the middle child of the Transformer Book range, as Asus have called it. With an Intel Bay Trail CPU, 2GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, a total...
Quality build
Screen does not tilt far back enough
The T100 Chi seems a decent tablet, but is really no more than that. You would probably be better off just buying an iPad and adding a bluetooth keyboard as you won’t want to be using the T100 Chi as your main laptop device.

The Asus Transformer Book Chi T100 is one of the latest transforming machines from the Taiwanese tech maker, and it takes a much more premium approach to its design. The 10.1-inch Windows 8.1 gadget sports a full HD display and a full keyboard,...
Asus has gone all out with its latest Transformer Book Chi T100, giving it a solid and slim metal design, and a decent keyboard, all in a 10.1-inch portable that's pretty much ideal when you're on the move. The Chi T100 comprises two main parts: the...
Asus is almost onto a winner with its portable Chi T100, but it suffers from a few major drawbacks. For starters, we found the battery couldn’t quite last the whole day, as we only managed to squeeze out around eight hours of standard use - that's not...
Asus' Transformer Book Chi T100 is a solid transforming tablet/laptop hybrid that's small enough to sling around in your bag, doesn’t cost the earth and Windows 8.1 runs well on it too. It's positively slim and light, but the Bluetooth connecting...

Featuring a solid-feeling dockable keyboard, a robust and slim metal design and the productivity perks of Windows 8.1, the Asus Transformer Book Chi T100 is a great mobile productivity aid. However, the awkward Bluetooth 4.0-powered docking process and...
Decent design, solid keyboard, moderate price tag, solid performance
Docking process is a pain, no full-sized USB port
