Dell Venue 11 Pro review

Dell's Venue 11 Pro is more configurable and business-friendly than most tablets, but the Atom-based entry-level model is expensive for what it offers.

If you’re keen on the idea of picking up a Windows 8 tablet that can be used as a laptop (if you grab the optional keyboard dock) for basic tasks, Dell’s Venue 11 Pro is a solid option with a nice 1080p IPS screen and good battery life. Its swappable...

Dell Venue 11 Pro 7000 Series (7140)

The Dell Venue 11 Pro 7000 Series (7140) is a business-focused tablet with strong performance, long battery life, and a healthy selection of ports and security features, not to mention accessories to help keep you productive.

Intel Core M-5Y71 processor for top performance and efficiency. Long battery life. Solid design. Good touch screen, with full HD resolution and pen support.

Docking keyboard and desktop dock sold separately. No storage for digitizer pen.

Conclusion The Dell Venue 11 Pro 7000 Series (7140) checks off all the boxes for the qualities we want in a business tablet: strong performance, long battery life, and a healthy selection of ports and security features. Throw in some very good...

Review: Dell Venue 11 Pro Tablet is a laptop in disguise

It's a bit clunky as a tablet but comes into its own when you add a keyboard and watch it rip through a few tests.

Core M CPU makes it faster than most Atom-based devices ; Excellent keyboard/auxiliary battery slice

It's not going to win any thin contests ; Pricy

Now is the time during the review when we perform our new Lenovo-check. That is, we tell you what, if any software has been added to the mix, and whether it’s hijacking your browser and exposing your personal preferences to the world—or at least to...

Dell Venue 11 Pro 7139 (Security) review: Supremely powerful and super secure

This 11-inch tablet boasts an Intel Core i5 processor with vPro and Trusted Platform Module support, a smart card reader, and biometric security.

Very fast ; Top-shelf security and management features ; Excellent IPS display

Somewhat thick ; Touchpad on the optional keyboard is a bit finnicky

This Windows tablet delivers laptop-like performance, enterprise-level security, and multiple docking options.

Dell Venue 11 Pro (7139)

Dell's Venue 11 Pro (7139) is the company's top-of-the-line tablet with enterprise level security features. It's built to meet all the needs of an enterprise business, and is our top choice for high-end business tablets.

All-day battery life. Bright, 1080p HD IPS touch display. Uses microUSB charging. Keyboard dock adds battery power. Desktop dock option. Swappable battery. Active stylus. Biometric security and TPM. Windows 8.1 Pro.

Only one USB 3.0 port. No stylus storage. Limited recline angle on keyboard dock hinge. Aggressive default screen dimming.

The top of the line Dell Venue 11 Pro (7139) excels as a workhorse Windows 8 slate tablet with its detachable keyboard base. It's got a lot more performance potential than the similarly priced, Atom-equipped Dell Latitude 10 Enhanced Security, our...

Dell Venue 11 Pro review: Tablet plus accessories makes three good devices

Add the dock or the keyboard with battery to stretch this Windows tablet's capabilities as you wish.

1080p display ; Strong CPU (for a tablet) ; Great optional accessories

A little thick and heavy (for a tablet) ; Optionaly keyboard dock is nearly essential for productivity ; 2GB of memory can be limiting

Dell's Venue 11 Pro shines as a hybrid when you add its mobile keyboard and desktop docks. The Atom processor is sufficiently powerful--and power efficient--for performing day-to-day tasks all day long.

Dell Venue 11 Pro

With its great battery life, 1080p IPS screen, and flexible mobile and desktop docking systems, the Dell Venue 11 Pro slate tablet means business.

All-day battery life. Bright, 1080p HD IPS touch display. Uses microUSB charging. Optional keyboard dock adds battery power. Has desktop dock option. Swappable battery.

Keyboard docks cost extra. Stylus not included. Aggressive default screen dimming. Only one USB 3.0 port.

The Dell Venue 11 Pro is certainly a challenge to the "bring your own device" mantra that has developed over the past few years. The Venue 11 Pro has the chops to replace both a mobile tablet and a business docking laptop for daily Office tasks. It has...

Dell Venue 11 Pro 7130

What we've found over the past year is that the tile interface in Windows 8 does indeed scale well on smaller screens, although the experience inside actual apps and programs is more varied, especially if you're using a touch screen as your main...

The well-built Dell Venue 11 Pro has an excellent full-HD display, plenty of configuration options, and an optional keyboard and docking station. Battery life is also excellent.

That sold-separately keyboard dock suffers from occasional lag and a tiny touch pad, and even low-end configurations are more expensive than other tablets or hybrids.

Betting on a full 1080p display partly justifies the Dell Venue 11 Pro's higher price compared to other Atom-powered tablets. But the keyboard dock add-on, which should turn this into a functional laptop alternative, is too expensive and occasionally...

Dell Venue 11 Pro review: This Atom-powered Windows tablet goes full-HD

One of the more ambitious ideas for Windows 8 was that it would work equally well across a wide variety of screen sizes. Not just the 13-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch laptops that previous versions of Windows were mostly found on, but also 8- and 11-inch...
