Review HP Slate 2 Wi-Fi + 3G Tablet

A test of patience. With the Slate 2, the manufacture HP targets business customers who even in the realm of tablets are forced to stick with Windows. These people have to reach deep in their pockets and still be content with a slow Atom Processor. Can...

Good manufacturing, Passive cooling, Fast SSD, x86 Platform, Integrated UMTS, Diverse security features, The quality fits, the furnishing is good - here the Slate 2 separates itself from the cheaper competition

Quite bulky and heavy, Very low performance abilities, Dark display with TN panel, High generation of heat, Windows 7 for tablet use only recommendable in limited circumstances, Performance, performance, performance - nothing interferes with everyday...

HP Slate 2 Review

Summary: HP's Slate 2 is a neat and compact 8.9in. Windows 7 tablet, although it's short of CPU muscle and has limited internal storage capacity. We'd prefer mobile broadband as standard rather than optional, while battery life could be better.

Compact, with robust build quality, Touchscreen navigation via finger or optional stylus, Optional docking stand

Limited internal storage, Mobile broadband is optional rather than standard, Battery life could be better, Processor is underpowered for some tasks, No Ethernet port on tablet or optional docking stand, No keyboard dock

HP Slate 2

HP Slate 2 is a Windows 7 running tablet with an 8.9-inch 1024x768 pixels touchscreen, Wi-Fi connectivity, 1.5GHz Intel processor, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 64GB of built-in storage, 3-megapixel camera on the back, front-facing VGA camera and a memory card slot.

Verizon 4G LTE network is incredibly fast, 32GB microSD card included, Integrated kickstand works in portrait and landscape

Battery life is among the worst weve ever seen, No 4G LTE power toggle option, Kickstand in landscape orientation blocks microUSB port

HP Slate 2 review

With the iPad well established in businesses and Android tablets such as the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime offering a solid and workable keyboard dock, you might wonder whether the good old Windows-based tablet has any traction at all for modern...

Small and portable, runs fullWindows applications, dock offers additional ports including HDMI, solid build

Short on internal memory, no Ethernet connectivity, Atom processor is a little sluggish

The HP Slate 2 is a solidly built 8.9in Windows tablet responsive to both touch and stylus input. Business customers may be drawn by its small size and portability, plus support for full Windows applications. Modest specifications mean it won't suit...

Had to check this out before sending to him, the screen is beautiful, everything I could check without registering it was impressive. I also like the texture on the back of the case so it's not so slippery. I did not see any problems with it.

Product came scratched and sound is terrible. Not worth any money. Instructions are a joke.

HP Slate 2

Smaller than it looks in photos and a great deal of the memory is already used up straight out of the box. The touch screen is slow to respond and resolution could be improved. Still way better than an iPad however.
