Samsung Galaxy Book review: You're better off with a Surface Pro

The Galaxy Book features a lovely screen, solidly-built hardware, and more than enough power for most mobile users. But mediocre battery life, a flimsy keyboard cover and a relatively high price make it hard to recommend.

Great screen ; Pen input is fast and responsive ; Strong performance

Battery life ranges from mediocre to bad ; Takes a long time to change unless powered down ; Keyboard cover feels flimsy when used on your lap

Samsung's Galaxy Book doesn't get anything totally wrong. And if it were a few hundred dollars cheaper than the Surface Pro, it could find an audience. But as it is, the good things about the Galaxy Book (its display and overall performance) are come...

Samsung Galaxy Book 12 review

The Galaxy Book's display is out of this world, but its battery life and keyboard keep it grounded.

Samsung Galaxy Book first look: A Surface Pro competitor with keyboard and stylus included

It's been more than a year since I started using a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 as my primary home office computer and it has gone on every business trip since it arrived.

Samsung Galaxy Book Review

Samsung's Galaxy Book charges a premium price for a subpar experience.

Impresively long battery life ; Lots of ports ; Solid performance

Disapointing display ; Off-center, non-backlit keyboard ; The touchscreen isn't very responsive

The Galaxy Book Feels Like a Big Step Backward for Samsung

This painfully average machine is further proof that all but the company's flagship laptops are an afterthought.

Slim, durable chassis; fast CPU performance; great selection of ports

Galaxy Book 12 review: One of the best convertibles around, but it's not a Surface-killer

Portable design ; Good battery life ; Super-vibrant AMOLED screen

Lack of ports is a pain ; Keyboard stand mechanism isn’t the best

Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6

Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6 review: A great note-taking Windows 10 tablet for under £700, including a stylus and keyboard

Ultra-portable design ; Excellent stylus for note-taking ; Decent keyboard ; Good screen

Middling performance ; Mediocre battery life

The Galaxy Book 10.6 is for light work only. Despite the great stylus, you won’t be doing your big 3D work projects on this device, although you may be able to crack on with drawing workloads. With just 4GB of RAM, you’ll need to be careful about how...

Samsung Galaxy Book review

A titillating but troubled 2-in-1 device

Gorgeous display ; Essential accessories included ; Competitive battery life

Still-poor keyboard cover ; Sub-premium materials ; No Windows Hello

Despite an incredible screen and strong battery life, if you’re not able to make liberal use of Samsung’s phone-exclusive syncing and biometric login features via Samsung Flow, there aren’t many compelling reasons to pick up the Galaxy Book over...

Samsung Galaxy Book (10.6 inch) review: The affordable, long-lasting Windows 2-in-1

Seen as a laptop alternative we do find the Galaxy Book's keyboard cover/stand overly fussy, plus its trio of positions isn't exactly flexible. This,

Strong battery life as spec isn’t all-powerful ; Intel Core M3 chipset means silent operation ; S Pen stylus and Island Type keyboard included ; Reasonable price point

Still uses a horribly fussy keyboard stand ; Lack of ports and no full-size USB ; Material choices don’t aren’t visually high-end

The Samsung Galaxy Book trims the price compared to its TabPro S spiritual predecessor, which is a big step in the right direction. Working against this positive, however, is just how well finished its quality competitors are, such as the pricier...

Samsung Galaxy Book review

The Galaxy Book is an affordable alternative to Samsung's high-end Pro and Flex lines, but there are too many compromises for most people here

Solid performance ; Attractive display ; Decent port selection

Underwhelming battery life ; Unreliable trackpad ; No fingerprint or face unlock

The Galaxy Book has the potential to be a great laptop, but its key weaknesses have a big effect on day-to-day usage. Considering the strength of the competition, most people are better off looking elsewhere.
