Pioneer DV-410V DVD Player

Pioneer was the first to bring in Laserdisc players way back in 1980, so they sure seem to know about optical disc playback. 29 years later, their DVD players are still respected and purchased all over, even in our country. They might not be as...

At Rs. 6490, we are definitely impressed with the player, as the good points outweigh the cons, in number as well as extent. It does not have a fancy design, but definitely has nice video playback. It has a few minor quirks in motion, but not worse...

Pioneer DV-410V DVD Player

Introducing Pioneer's DV-410V - proof that the humble standard-def DVD player lives on!

It's joined by an RGB and composite-enabled SCART socket, which is hanging on in there despite being an endangered species, plus component and composite video outputs. You can connect the deck to your AV receiver using the HDMI socket, analogue stereo...

So far, so good.

So far, picture quality is notably excellent, even on an old Trinitron with S-VHS input. (I'll be getting an HDTV later ; this upscaling player is prep work.) The firmware upgrade process mentioned here and elsewhere worked flawlessly for me-- and it...

The remote /could/ be more powerful. You may want to think about a cheap-ish universal remote with good reviews for IR output strength. I've used some that can be pointed at the opposite wall (mildly reflective) and still control A/V gear

Pioneer DV-410V-K Multi-Format 1080p Upscaling DVD Player

Overall I love this player. It has a few problems but it's a nice upgrade for me.

I like the slim profile, full range of console buttons and the ability to play MPEG4-compressed AVIs. You can use any USB device (thumb drive, hard drive, etc) as long as it's formatted as FAT32. I have tested a 40gb hdd on this player and it works...

It takes a few seconds (around 10 seconds) from boot up until the player recognizes the disc or USB device and can play it. Maybe all new DVD players are like this but my previous player was a Pioneer DV-341 which is much faster.

So far, okay

I agree with Matt's earlier review... with the fixes, this player has a lot of potential. The multi-region fix does really work... I'm not yet entirely sold on the dvd player, but since I have 30 days to return it from Best Buy (sorry NewEgg but I...

Loaded with quite a few features. GUI pretty clear cut.

The DVD player froze on a particular movie... with skipping frames off a flash drive. That same movie froze when burned on a DVD, but no skipped frames. Now this seems to only happen on one movie out of a few, and I guess it's a matter of finding out...

Extra features do not work

Nice overall player

I bought this unit because i was advertised as working with WMVs and other formats, but it does not. In fact my older and cheaper Panasonic unit plays DivX formats this unit will not. Good unit but only worth the extra money IF the all the features...

Price has dropped $10.00....

I rated NE [not the 410] 4 eggs, for not allowing a full refund.......only and exchange or store credit, this item.

Since I bought it from NE.

None

DV-410 not so good

Was hoping the extra $35 spent over the Phillips 5990 would buy better compatiblity and versatilty.. but it didn't. Actually the pioneer proved to be more picky about brands of usb flash drives (played only 2 of the 6 different brands I tested)....

lots of functions on front panel

Poor compatiblity with usb flash drives and usb hdd and some Digital camera's avi flim clips

Great player with all the fixin's

Remote is well layed out but not backlight, only real grip but nothing much....the firmware makes this player 100000% more enjoyable

"Upgradeable" firmware just google (Pioneer FAQ)

Great player

Not sure I could call this a con, so I'll put it here. The depth of the case is short, so stacking this with any other components is close to impossible. Might be useful information for someone else. I forgot to check the dimensions when I bought it. I...

This player is great! I won't use all the features...only DVD playback, but it does that very well!

None that I've found.

Product Specifications

The DV-410V is a DVD player that does exactly what you'd expect, plus that little bit extra. The player has an HDMI output with 1080p upscaling, ensuring that what you see is of the highest possible quality, regardless of the source. The DV-410V also has a front-in USB, which means that you can also play music or watch movies (the system supports the "Playback Movie Files in USB" standard) from a USB memory stick. You can even create a program (or "playlist"), allowing you to enjoy USB content in the order you'd like. Or, for a different experience, watch your digital photos, displayed in High Resolution JPEG format, whilst simultaneously listening to music. In addition, the DV-410V has Virtual Surround Sound, which enables surround sound effects from just two speakers. When you're watching a DVD, you hear a deep, realistic 3D soundspace from a pair of stereo speakers.
