Great Product!

I bought this DVD Player 2 years ago, and it's still working perfectly. My only major complaint is that if there is a little piece of dust on the disc, the player skips repeatedly. This only really happens with rented discs. And it spit out rented...

A good, solid buy; despite it's glitches

I decided to invest in a DVD player about a 18 months ago, and after shopping around for a couple of months settled on the DVD-709 after I found one for £190. I haven't had any regrets about my decision, but that is not to say the player is perfect....

Worst DVD Player Ever!

I have finally decided to write a review on the Samsung DVD709. If you look at the DVD market right now, you see that more discs are multi-layered, and that many great players are becoming much cheaper. Well, this is how I began to hate Samsung's DVD...

The best £130 DVD player

For a while the 709 has been dogged with compatibly problems, The Matrix and The Patriot just locked up on the unit but thanks to Samsungs EEPROM upgrade those problems are finally over.

I bought this from Mercata.com about 6 or 7 months ago, for about $130. It was the most inexpensive dvd player could find at the time. For the price, I was very surprised. It has played every dvd I have put in it to date, and every cd. The features...

I even watched The Matrix on it!

If you've read many reviews, you'll have seen several that criticized the 709 model for not being able to play certain DVDs, primarily the Matrix. I got this DVD player for free in early 2000, and therefore didn't have many expectations.
