Bad

It's a terrible piece of electronics. I hate it, in fact I loathe having to use it. It can't even play DVD-Rs!! Absolutely useless to me for personal DVDs. With the added lack of picture quality and no progressive scan (even on Component cables) for...

Worked really well originally VCR is very good, best quality I've seen from VHS Easy to use

DVD player is TERRIBLE. Awful, awful, awful It doesn't play DVD-Rs (at least in my experience) Region-locked, single region only VCR Recorder incredibly unreliable - often cuts off recordings part way through, or never starts them at all No progressive...

Good

Samsung make good electrical products generally and this is no exception. This is a reasonably easy to use and reliable unit that has been in use for a while now. Would have no hesitation in recommending this machine to others.

Versatility of a dual video cassette recorder and also digital video disc player. Easy to use and good to have a VCR capability as well as the DVD. Not so many video players on the market now.

Doesn't have an inbuilt hard drive. It is difficult to copy old video tapes onto DVDs. Would be more versatile if it also had a hard drive.

OK

I believe I got half of what I paid for, I wonder if things would have been any different if I'd bought an LG.

I like the VCR side of things, it is easy to operate and program, it has not given an ounce of trouble.

The DVD side has only played 3 DVDs in its entire life (about 5 years) a message just comes up saying this disc cannot be played please check the disc, so I have given up on it, I guess I'll be considering a different brand next time.

Terrible

WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN, This is a p**s poor unit that has so many glitches it should not be on the market, this is a throw away unit that you could only possibly keep for 6 months and then replace it. Good for the kids because its at the stage that if...

Easy to use

The DVD is hopeless one day it will play the movie the next day it won't play the same movie, stops half way through for no apparent reason and the kids movies if they have got fingerprints on the disk will not play at all or you just get continued...

Bad

Not a bad product, is working reasonably well for the moment. I would however not purchase the same model again and maybe not even the brand. If you are not playing audio discs, MP3's and just recording tv shows and going to the video hire store or...

Works very well with Foxtel. I have an ancient telly with coaxial being the only input. I have sound out straight to the stereo and picture via coaxial cable which is now the best picture I've ever had in the last 18 years on this telly (due to Foxtel...

Playback of some DVD's is not even worth mentioning, I think NTSC or whatever it is. MP3 playback is garbage also, freezing up at times. It also has trouble with burnt audio discs.

OK

Ok machine but definitely think there is better! Have had 4 combo units now in my time and this definitely was the worst and now just sits on the kids TV as a backup, For price, would have been better going LG.

The obvious of having the two units in one. Large display so can still see if a distance away. Light weight and compact.

The remote is very chunky and the button pad of low quality as one button broke off within 2 weeks. Also, the video auto tracking is hopeless which I guess they had some idea as that put these buttons on the remote for you to do your self!

Good

Has performed flawlwssly for over 12 months. I have it interconnected with Fox Digital and an LG Home Theatre System and it has not missed a beat. During the time when I had no Digital FTA STB, I was able to revert to viewing Analogue FTA via its...

Looks good, and performs just as well. Reliable so far (don't want to jinx myself) and has many features e.g YPbPr, S-VHS, Co-Ax S/P DIF, and the 6 head stereo VCR is outstanding. Instruction manual in reasonable English, and set-up is intuitive.

Can't copy DVD to Tape, although it may be possible with external cables. No Fibreoptic S/P DIF output. LED display doesn't continue to show I/P channel during recording.

Good

I haven't had any problems with my player. It is very easy to use and the onscreen display of everything eg program timing is clear and easy to read, great for those with bad eyesight.

Having one machine instead of two machines is what really appealed. Also being able to tape on the VCR whilst watching a DVD is great. Also being able to copy from a DVD to the VCR is a great benefit.

I haven't had any problems with mine yet and I have had a few years now. I suppose when (if it ever does) break down you then lose both your VCR and DVD player in one hit.

Terrible

STAY AWAY! Don't bother buying this unless you a) don't mind throwing away money or b) enjoy getting exercise by taking the product back to the most inconvenient service centres in the country.

Supports DiVX.

Everything! NTSC playback is horrible, the screen looks terrible even though it's plugged into a $4K widescreen tv. DVD just stopped working! I rang the support centre who are rude. One consultant "Mary" decided that she didn't want to help me anymore...
