Disappointed by Sony

Purchased this unit because it was a sony and expected a high quality item.  From the begining, the unit was freezing on DVDs, would not eject dvd without unplugging unit, does not play VHS properly, no sound because of auto tracking problems.  Do not...

At first glance, the unit looks nice and has lots of promising features

None of the promising featues work!  unit freezes, vhs does not play well

Too complicated, but what these days isn't?

I decided that I wanted to replace my finicky VHS/DVD recorder/player with one that has an HDMI jack, since my flat-screen high-definition television set has HDMI. Did I compare products on Epinions? No. The discussion of technical features puzzles ...

enhances images from old DVDs

I haven't figured out how to get title lists ; quite finicky about specks of dirt
