Philips GoGear SA2820 2GB MP3 player

Tiny player, but big on features?

The price is compelling for this capacity of player from a named brand, and the sound quality is reasonable once you get away from the overly-bassy output. The size is also appealing and the display gives you just about enough information, but does...

Philips' 2GB GoGear is roughly the size of a matchbox.

Not the best sounding or the best featured player, but it's a very affordable alternative to Apple's iPod shuffle, with a distinct style many will fall for

Price ; Ease of use ; No software required for transferring music ; Battery life

Poor file format support ; Sound quality is very bass-heavy

If you love dance music, you'll certainly like the bass-heavy tendencies of this player. Those looking for a gym-friendly player and fans of a cleaner overall sound may want to look elsewhere, though

An object lesson in packaging and ergonomics, but sound lets the Philips down

Small and cute ; nicely finished ; clever interface ; a lot of memory for the size and price

Sounds grim with the supplied headphones and not much better with an upgrade

Philips Go Gear Digital Audio Player SA2820

This is a tiny MP3 player that also can make voice recordings. Although it is tiny the screen is still very readable and with battery life of close to twenty hours between recharge it certainly has things in its favour.

Firstly it is small enough to fit in the palm of the smallest hand. It is 4cm wide and tall and only a smidgen over 1cm thick, the weight (before you attach the earbuds) is just 27grams. The top has on/off and back buttons as well as the 3.5mm jack...

Philips GoGear SA2820 2 GB: Get this Philips before you Go Go

The size of the SA2820 makes it one of the most compact and lightweight player, only weighting 27 grams and 42 x 42 x 15 millimetre. However, this extremely small size comes with the compromise of not being able to play videos. Its size also makes it...

User friendly, fast files transfer, good battery stamina, does not require software

Philips GoGear SA2820 2 GB

I first received this MP3 player as a gift last summer and I still use it almost every day almost a year on. It's a very good MP3 player for what it costs and has the ability to hold 2GBs (approximately 500) of songs. It has the ability to record on it...

Easy to use, great features and generally a great item

The screen does occassionally freeze, although pressing the reset button sorts that

Philips GoGear SA2820 2 GB: Top piece of kit

My friend has one of these and constantly has the piss taken. Despite this it's actually a very good piece of kit. OK might be a bit plasticy and not brilliantly well built, but for the money it's excellent. It will play normal mp3 files and at a high...

cheap, small, simple

Not much memory, slightly plasticy
