Review: Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch Notebook

Apple's 13-Inch MacBook Pro may be the smallest of the bunch, but that only makes its sturdy construction and dazzling performance that much more impressive.

Seriously solid unibody design shrunk downto more portable proportions. Dazzling performance for a machinethis small (just 4.5 pounds). SD card slot. Love the backlitkeys

Teensy keyboard, puny arrow keys.LCD could be brighter. Nonremovable battery doesn’t last “all day”as advertised (reality: not quite four hours with a DVD going)

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch

New features and a bigger battery earn the Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch an Editors' Choice.

Very good processing parts for an entry-level machine. Unparalleled multi-touch gestures. Best-looking chassis in its class. Sturdy. Return of the FireWire port. Bigger, better battery life than its predecessor's. Lower prices. Backlit keyboard. Loaded...

Base memory is little low for this day and age.

Apple goes out of its way to emphasize the MacBook Pro 13-inch's green credentials, and we acknowledge them as well. Like its predecessor, the laptop is certified for Energy Star (in this case 5.0), EPEAT Gold, and RoHS. Incorporating an LED display...

For Apple users of course clearly the lower-priced 2.13 GHz model and also the white MacBook.

Apple 13-inch MacBook Pro Review

Build quality is excellent thanks to the very strong and rigid unibody chassis that is machined out a solid block of aluminum. Unless you were going to clamp the MacBook Pro in a vise and try to bend it, you can't really find any flex anywhere on the...

Excellent battery life ; Screen has excellent color and contrast ; Great build quality ; SD-card slot

When the system is running hot you can really feel it ; Good looks put in front of ergonomics ; Poor Windows driver support ; Hard drive is limited to SATA-150 speeds

Outside of gaming performance the system handled 720P and 1080P HD movie decoding with ease, perfect for a home theatre hub with a mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. While we didn't see any significant slowdowns related to the 5400rpm hard drive in our...

Apple MacBook Pro 13 and 15-inch Hands On

Apple's new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro notebooks were a surprise for their WWDC 2009 keynote, not least because most people were only expecting the iPhone 3G S . Still, we won't turn our noses up at new unibody machines with boosted...

Review: MacBook Pros (13-inch, Mid 2009)

With its lower price, the return of FireWire (woo-hoo!), longer battery life, better looking display and a new built-in SD Card slot that you can boot from, the newest member of the MacBook Pro makes an impressive debut.

And finally, the new 13-inch MacBook Pros now feature a Secure Digital (SD) memory card slot. Having an internal SD card reader is obviously handy for photographers and videographers whose cameras record to the popular SD format, but that’s not its...

Apple MacBook Pro 13″ Unibody

Back to My Mac. Thats the name of Apple's Mobile Me component that allows you to access your Mac remotely. However, I'm using the sentence more or less in its literal form as I switched my notebook back to a Mac after spending six months with the Sony...

Overall, the 13″ MacBook Pro is a notebook you could easily fall in love with. Sure, a higher-res matte screen and lighter weight would make the notebook PERFECT for me but everybody has a different idea about a perfect machine and there will never...

Apple Macbook Pro (13in)

Apple's 13in MacBook Pro is the smallest notebook in the company's "Pro" range, but it still packs quite a punch. This laptop is a fantastic compromis...

Fantastic build quality and design, extremely long battery life, multi-touch trackpad, beefy processor and RAM options

RAM upgrades are expensive through Apple, no anti-glare display coating option, battery can't be removed

The 13in Apple MacBook has gone Pro, with more memory, beefier processors and an embedded battery that outlasts similar-sized notebooks we've tested. We would prefer an option for a more powerful graphics card though.
