Sony DVP-FX820 Portable DVD Player

Maxell’s Encore EN-5 offer a rich, full sound for an affordable price, beating out nearly all of the headphones in the test. However, our testers didn’t think they were very comfortable, nor did this pair do a good job staying put during use....

Take your movies with you. The Sony DVP-FX820 features sleek, compact styling. The player is available in black, blue, red, pink, or white. The controls are located neatly below the screen. Like most portable DVD players, the screen folds onto the main...

When it comes to your portable DVD player don't mess around. The Sony DVP-FX820 has the screen size you're looking for and comes in a variety of colors to match your personality. While it costs a bit more than the average player, the picture quality is...

Bottom Line: I can't review a product that will not work. Look for a different model/brand.

Looks nice and plays high quality (for a very short period)

Even with very gentle use and gentle care, the unit stopped working after about 20 hours of use

Screen resolution is fantastic and volume is plenty loud for planes and car use. There is not a OEM car case/headrest holder for this, but I bought one made for a NextBase 8" portable and it works fine. You have to take the player out of the holder to...

Clarity of screen is great. Plenty of volume, have not used it with headphones. Disc door is a button, not a slide release - very nice addition. Swivel screeen with all controls accessible below screen

A little heavy, but not terrible. Default screen size leaves black margins on sides, but I ahve not read up on how to change this yet

in short, i love the picture. for some of my favorite movies (three women, juliet of the spirits) color matters greatly, and i haven't enjoyed them this much since seeing them in a darkened theater. mind you, this is wholly subjective; one could...

has plenty of pixels for the screen size; good color fidelity for the price. so far it's played all of my dvd +- r's even dl's. most menu's, functions accessible without the remote, has a/v (composite) i/o. good battery life

thin, faint sound tho about what you'd expect from "speakers" this size; much better with headphones. not region-free. battery replacement very expensive

Wish I had bought the Panasonic.

Size and screen are great

Skips. It's good for a movie at best while in-flight

We had used the player for a little over a week when the video stopped working and the control buttons were not functional. I sent it back to Sony for a replacement. We received the refurbished replacement yesterday and the replacement did the EXACT...

When it was actually working, the picture was crisp and it was very wonderful for a long car trip we had taken

Video stopped working after very little time used. Replacement had the same issue within an hour of using it

I bought this for one purpose only, to have control over what I watch when I fly across the country to see my family. I took the suggestions of others and put the video on low. I watched for about 4 hours and still had plenty of battery left for at...

Video quality, Battery Life (on low settings), 2 people can connect via headsets, size, good looking unit

I still believe battery life should be even longer then 6 hrs on higher settings

DVP-FX930

After doing a few days of research and compairisons, it was obvious that for a portable dvd player, Sony has as close to perfection as you can get, but they need to make a car mounting clamshell and newegg needs to list the 930 model. People that...

This is review of the next larger model of this series, swivel fold down screen, max volume is very loud with a little bass distortion at the highest 2 settings in durring loud scenes, high resolution, screen (800x480) has high response time/refresh...

no flash memory slot/port, no support of mpeg, avi, or .wmv, etc., no car mounting kit fits this device, no holes, lips, hinges, edges on the device whatsoever, it's like a bar of soap, but I did make a flat car mount kit work by custom drilling holes...
