It records sometimes

Bought it to be used as tv tuner for a NTSC tv set in Europe, not tested yet this feature so the rest of it does't matter at this time

The only con so far is the fact that it doesn't respond quickly enough to some commands

Worked great until it broke down

Now it can no longer record DVD's. So now what is the point of me sending it to Astar? So they can send me another screwed up DVD recorder. Total waste of my time and money! At least it can still play DVD's (for now)

I've not had the nagging problems that others have reported. I recorder VHS Tapes and TV Programs without any hassle. Used both DVD+R and DVD+RW media in unit for recording. I've have not used the USB or Firewire inputs but do not anticipate issues...

Runs a tad warm, slight noise during playback. Neither concerns me for the price I paid

Remote not the most intuitive and can be confusing - but if you shop here and are a bit of a geek it should be easy enough (but you may have difficulty explaining to others in your home how to work it)
