Toshiba D-R410 review: Toshiba D-R410

Toshiba D-R410

Relatively inexpensive; performs basic DVD recordings without a problem; upscales DVD to 1080p; supports most recordable DVD formats, including dual-layer discs.

Mediocre recording quality below the XP level; upscaling performance could be better; no flexible recording feature; does not support DVD-RAM discs; does not include a USB port or SDHC card slot; lack of IR blaster makes it annoying to schedule...

The Toshiba D-R410 handles basic DVD-recorder functions at a budget price, but you can get better features and performance from Panasonic's DMR-EA18K, if you're willing to spend a little more.

good stuff

I am on my 4th home dvd recorder in the last 5 years or so. GoVideo = awful , RCA = awful , LG = ok once I replaced the burner...This Toshiba, although I only have it for a month, does stuff the way it is supposed to be done! Yes, it might be a little...

Excellent Basic DVD Recorder

No complaints. If you want a good basic recorder, this is the one to get. Toshiba has never disappointed me.

I was looking for a basic, no frills DVD Recorder, and this is an excellent product. So far, it plays everything that's been thrown at it, and recording is straight forward as well. Picture quality is very good, and so are the various functions (freeze...

As some other posts have said, the remote control is generic and "lightweight." The layout and function is decent, but it is not back-lit, and the writing can be hard to read in dim light.

It works

You can record things that lag like games, if you buy splitters. Annoying though.

It does what it says, it records things onto dvds.

Terrible for recording games, they lag badly even when it isn't recording. Tried this on multiple TVs.

Excellent DVD Recorder

For the money, I would buy it again!

Low Cost, Ease of Use, Responsive UI and FF/RW functions.

Quality of outputs from S-Video and RCA is not that hot, but I guess they intended for one to use HDMI! (Feature?)

Good for the price

Good for the price. Rated this at 5* because of the lower price for the quality. Otherwise it will get a 4*

This is the first DVD recorder that I have owned. So, I do not have a comparison with any other.

On replay, you are unable to find the place by the time function. Only the chapters are marked.

Doesn't have a tuner

Solid quality, very small footprint.

Why would an average person want a VDV recorder with no tuner?

Very Satisfied with This Unit

Very easy to use, good manual, and great feature set. I use it to record programs off of my TiVo. It beats LAN transfer, mastering, and burning hands down - and it takes only a real-time hour instead of two-three hours for each show. Upconversion looks...

As noted by another reviewer, it is a little slow to load DVDs. Other than that, it is a great deal.

EXCELLENT DVD RECORDER

A little Slow reacting when a Dvd is put in until it plays but not a big deal. This is the only Model that syncs with the Toshiba TV.

Dvd Player Syncs up Perfectly with The Toshiba TV.
